Hi Frankenchick----Swartz Creek is the next "big" town north of Durand on I-69. It's an easy drive from the Lansing area.

My name is Laura, I'm married with 2 dd's, 1 ds, dogs, cats, horses and we will be getting some chicks next week. My oldest dd is showing chickens at the Tuscola County fair this summer, and that is what lead me here to BYC.

My name is Sarah. I have a wonderful husband, 5 kids- 3 girls (12, 10, and 8) and 2 boys (4 and 2). I started with the chickens and now DD 12 yr old is off and running a business with selling eggs and chickens. I am not big on buying eggs, but she is self supportive. (I do get cracked and dirty eggs for free!) Rachel has about 20 Ameraucana's LF and bantam that are 1 year old, 3 Black Austrolorps that will be a year in August, 27 assorted pullets that are almost 2 months old. (she just sold her older hens, so egg production is lower til Sept) Lastly her 1st incubation got 7 bantam chicks that are almost 2 weeks old.
We also have 2 cats and a puppy. DD who's 10 has a call duck too. 3 ponies live down the road at my SIL's 2nd farm, was MIL and FIL before they passed away.

Meat chickens are ordered for May. That is my area, the kids help and take some to the fair and I plan on 60 or so for us and raise more and sell to pay for the birds in our freezer.

We live in Fowlerville/ Howell area. I-96 and M-59 are a couple miles from us.
We also homeschool, are in 4-H, and involved in our church.

Cannot wait to meet everyone at the Swap in July!

Hi welcome to the board. I am Jean I live in the UP of MI in a town called Gladstone. I have 4 children 3 girls, 28, 25, 21 and 1 son, 17 this month he is the only one left at home. I have 2 grandbabies my granddaughter Hazel is 4 and my grandson Arcamedias is 2. My grandchildren are my only reward for parenting, because even though everyone says the job ends at 18 there is no retirement in parenting and the only reward is grandchildren LOL.

I have 3 Chihuahua's and I socialize puppys for different breeders.

I have the following chickens

5 buff orp hens
1 blk orp hen
1 blue cochin
1 blk orp roo
5 dorking hens
1 BR hen
1 dorking Roo
19 designer chicks that are 10 weeks old (I think I only have 6 or 7 roos out of this bunch.

Welcome to the madness Frankenchick and Boyd!

My name is Derek and I have a wonderful wife, a 5 year old daughter, and 2 year old son. We also have 1 cat, 2 dogs, frogs, fish, and a variety of chickens. We are in Burton, just outside of Flint. 5 years ago tomorrow we got our first three chicks.

We just got back from the Toledo Zoo. It was a great day for it and the animals were very active. The kids had a blast, and so I did I. Hope everyone else had a great day.
