Good Morning, all! We had our fourth hatch yesterday. Started with 9 (6 shipped in) and got 4 nice baby bantam cochins. Only one of the shipped eggs hatched, but it is one from the Mille Fleur Cochin project, so we are excited to see how it feathers out.
I'm just not having much luck with shipped eggs. I think our Post Office must see the FRAGILE stickers and drop kick the packages. Ought to ship them marked BIOHAZARD or HUMAN REMAINS or ?????. Anyone have any suggestions? Almost all my homegrown eggs hatch, but the shipped eggs' hatch rate is something like 12%. So I have 2 $25 Ameraucana chicks, and $50 cochin chick, etc.
