Well this rain certainly put an end to my planned day. Went out into the shop and checked on the new birds in the brooders. The Vorwerks have most of their body feathers and have changed color from dark brown to a light gold color. Their fuzzy little yellow heads are just starting to exhibit the tiniest of black feathers. I will be glad with their feathers are completely in.
Made a real boneheaded move a little while ago. I've carried a knife on me since I was 8 years old so you would think that I would know how to use one. I also keep my knifes razor sharp. The plexiglass window on my new brooder was loose and needed to be reinstalled. To do that I needed to remove the hot glue from the rabbeted area of the lid. Using the knife blade I was slicing off the glue. Somehow I let the knife slip and sliced my right index finger. The cut is quite long and deep but before I could bleed very much I clamped in off and bandaged it. I need to unbandage it to see if I should go get stitches but I keep putting it off.
It looks like on Tuesday I will be meeting up with Michelle and several other BYCers near Lennon. I sure am looking forward to it. It really is nice to be able to actually put names with faces.
