Good morning BYC Michiganders!

I have been put on notice... I found coon prints by my chicken run. I will be checking every nook and cranny today, to make sure there is no way it can get in to them tonight.

I will be setting a trap tonight and hopefully be able to dispatch it before it does harm. We have a labrador and a cocker spaniel, and until now, have not had any sign of racoons, etc., in our yard. We know they are around, as they steal the nieghbor's bird food, etc. I imagine they have hungry kits causing them to get a little bolder and come inside our fence.

Hello Everyone!

Busy week as usual.

Had a wonderful surprise this morning! Hot air balloons flying past our house One flew right over and the kids yelled hi and they said hi back! i think there is about 50 balloons competing in the 25th anniversary Howell Balloon Fest this weekend.

Off to help the girls finish packing for camp. they leave on Tuesday morning. need to go to the store and get a few things for them this afternoon.

hi everyone... been super busy... between my scraping for other bycers (selling checkbook covers, premade pages, etc on forum) making a guitar cake for a friends 5 year old daughter for tommorrow (has to be 4 cake mixes possible 5) taking care of garden and chickens and kids, babysitting 2 other children, and everything else I am doing I seem not to have to much time for anything lately and I thought summer was a time to relax.... LOL...NOT!!!!

Sadly you leave the lazy days of summer far behind you when you become an adult. Summer is always my busiest time. The majority of our work is in summer. Work days in summer often exceed twelve hours and then personal homes, yards and gardens need to be maintained. I don't think I've had a lazy summer since I turned fourteen.

Well the first get together for the family reunion was tonight. Cousins only. We had a lot of fun, some of the cousins that grew up together hanging out and roasting hot dogs and smores and having a couple of beers. Tomorrow is the BIG get together were I get to meet a bunch of people I am related to but have no memory of ever meeting. It will be interesting and my boys will probably be very clingy because they won't know a lot of people. I hope everyone enjoyed their day. The weather was wonderful. Nice and warm but not to hot with a nice cool evening. Those are the best kind of summer days.

Looks like it's going to be a good day. A little cloudy but any day I start on the top side of the ground is a good day. Granny has been sewing chickens like crazy and she sure is looking forward to the Chickenstock. She has 37 pincushions made so far and her goal is to have one for every lady who attends.
