Good Evening!

Glad to see your post Ellen. I hope the drs get it figured out soon!

Sam sorry about the hen. We had that twice this summer with ones that hatched end of Feb.

What about laying chicken wire by the porch so they don't cross it and make the mess on your porch? Mine don't like to walk on it. It might work. Good Luck!

The boys and I are home from my cousins wedding reception. My 3 daughters are still there...wish I was too. The boys are happy to be in bed and chores are done too. So I am patiently waiting for them

Off to fold some laundry.
Good Night All

Crystal---did you take a pic of the egg?

Briana---have a great time with MJ!!! It is so fun at her place.

Waving hello to everyone else on this chilly day. I am just doing stuff around the house, and oldest DD is going to make some gump bread this afternoon. I am loving the fact that my 10 yo like to cook and bake and is getting pretty independent with it all.
That means homemade cookies and goodies that I don't have to make!!!

Hi Everyone! A bit chilly willy today, but at least the snow is not flying!
Can anyone advise me on disposing of a possum w/flybait....I know this is done w/racoons....but not sure about possums...thanks!

Good afternoon. Not sure if anyone is on right now... it's a sad, sad day. I lost my beautiful white midgie tom today

I absolutely loved him

He was so wonderful, would come and fly up on my lap and just sit there. i found him under the lean to in the pen. At first i thought maybe a predator since the day before we caught another possum. It appears that it's not that. He had some bright green crusty poo on him. I checked the hen house and there is a few bright green poo droppings in there. I don't understand what might have happened to my big baby boy

We're all bummed out and mommyh (me) is pretty upset. I hate losing one of my babies! Anyone ever have something like this happen? I'm trying to find something online that might give me a hint as to what might have been the problem. I've read about liver problems but he seemed to be fine up until yesterday. The only thing green I've fed him was some cauliflower greens and corn on the cob. I put some DE in their water but I know that will only help with internal parasites. I've never had a sick bird before and this is kinda freakin' me out:confused:

If anyone has any ideas can you please give me a shout? I've got to go bury the poor guy. His mate is pretty sad right now. Actually all the other (3) turkeys can't figure what's going on.

yuppers, opossums are opportunistic eaters so don't be surprised if you catch some non targeted species also... ie raccoons.

I am so sorry for your loss! I can't help with the cause, but hopefully someone on here will have some ideas for you.

SO SORRRY! It's tough to lose a bird....especially not know the cause. We feed our gals corn on the cob ALL the time, so that's not the issue...this was a turkey? I don't have any experience in that area - anyone else??
