It sure is enjoyable to open this site thread and read all of the varied and interesting posts. We're spread all over the state and all over the age ranges. Got to thinking about Miss_Jayne's birthday, she's the same age as my youngest son. So as age groups vary so do opinions and I love reading each and every one. Thanks to all of you for the reaffirmation of God's love.

Opa,

That is very scary!! I am glad to hear your son is doing well and has a good prognosis. My sister and I had teeth removed for overcrowding and palate reasons in the 80's and now she has mod-severe sleep apnea and I have mild. Mine could simply be the deviated septum I have, but I wonder about hers?

Praying for a quick recovery for your son!

It is very scary. Thank God that they figured out a better way to do it now. My granddaughter just got a palate expander so she shouldn't have to endure something like her father just went through. Evidently this situation could have led to his death in his sleep. You're right, scary.
On a brighter note, my new speckled sussex are laying.

[/img] I talked with the father of the girl who raised them and he told me about her breeding program. Can you believe I didn't get their name and number. These senior moments are equally scary.

hey all...i wanted to share a money saver with you!

i found a farmer in our area (Lapeer) who grows wheat and corn and makes chicken feed.

only $20 for 100 lbs. my chickens, ducks and turkeys are loving it!

he does grower w/ 23-24% and layer 15/16%. ( i mix it for the ducks)

he also does cracked corn, $12-100lbs. and feed wheat, $16-100lbs.

now, i ordered 2 bags of grower and 1 of layer, he only charged me $54!

if anyone wans the phone number, just PM me!

Can you imagine how much fun it'd be getting a bunch of us in one room?

We'd look at chicken pics all night long, except when we check out BYC, of course.
In case you wondered (and were too polite to ask), what's a Vermonter doing on this thread?...I grew up in Michigan.

You are right, that might be hard. We had better take a motorhome and an enclosed trailer, in case of rain, snow etc. After all, we are talking Michigan and Vermont!

oh yeah!!! what hatcheries can we tour? can we fit a giant cement chicken in the trailer?

should we bring a 'mascot'?

rules:
1. (most important for road trips) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should any participants eat chili on the trip or four days before, for that matter. this will be for two reasons; a. there will only be so many bathrooms on the way. b. we might need the windows up, and as pointed out earlier, we're talking Michigan and Maine here.

2. bring lots of junk food. that's a road trip rule.

feel free to add to the rules!
