BTW...our kids are all giggling their heads off downstairs. silly bunch of girls! they had a BLAST at the concert. eating popcorn and just hanging out.
Good Morning all- it is now officially warmer in my coop than it is in my house-53 degrees in here, and I keep the coop at 55.
ANd someone drank the last of the milk (fairies, because there was some in there before I went to bed), there is no coffee mate or cream for my coffee.
I am FROZEN! I am going outside now and going to warm up my van and use getting milk as an excuse to be in the nice warm van to get warm.
Blueberrylu,
I think if you are going to show your birds, you dont want hatchery birds. You want to get them from a breeder. Good luck on finding just a few. You should really get eggs from an established breeder though that has what you are looking for and hatch out your own.
Today is "clean up the yard after winters mess, day"
Then I invited my parents over for a homegrown chicken BBQ around 6.
Yesterday afternoon I let the hens out of the new "henhouse" after a week in captivity. They all found their way back inside at dusk when I went out to close the door. Only 11 eggs though....I bet someone hid theirs somewhere.
my girls and Lauren (CAT's daughter) had a sleep over last night.
i awoke at 7 and kept hearing giggling. i though, 'Seriously, they stayed up all night?'
so i kept listening to see which ones were awake and if any were sleeping.
they were all sleeping. it was my turkeys in the backyard scrounging.
we really need a smiley emoticon that slaps it's own forehead.
The little black one is in time out till later today, lol. It kept dragging the little Serama around the incubator... I think it just wanted a Teddy Bear, so we gave it one. It seems pretty happy with it, lol. The Serama's are so tiny- it is amazing to me!
Good Mornng all---------I am getting ready to get ready to go to the Pinewood derby our cub scout pack is hosting. Should be a fun day!!
Thank you, once again, for the bantam advice!! I know MJ answered a previous post, but I am still learning the chicken breeds and such and was clueless about what she was hatching
. I promise I am a quick learner. Dogs, cats, horses---I am savvy, but in this realm of knowledge I am a poultry virgin. I will chat with my friend and see if she is set up to take baby chickies. If she is, I will probably contact you MJ.
Have a great day everyone----I am excited to come back from the race, come on here and see what cute animal of the day picture someone has posted!!!
