Good Evening!!!

We are back from Peck Michigan!!! We stayed last night in Imlay City. There was a middle school aged kids hockey team there too....boy were they loud! I called the front desk at 10:30pm, asking why I was hearing screaming and yelling. Come to find out they were in the banquet/meeting room underneath us. It sounded like they were right outside our door. Felt sorry for all the other guests too. It was the talk at breakfast this morning. I was really wanting to go down the halls and knock on all their rooms and wake them up and let them feel how it felt to not get a full nights sleep. (they had signs on all the players doors)

The girls did good at the 4-H horse quiz bowl competition. Took a long time and not nearly as many players as last year. Sanilac county had never hosted this event before and had never attended this event before. so it was alot of coaching and training and stopping and explaining going on for the volunteers. Rachel's team is competing at the state level next month. Emily did good too. Her team won every round they competed in. Points wise they ended up 2nd. They are a novice team and they cannot go to the state, next year she will be eligable to do so.

Off to continue clean up from my absence.

Missing one of Emily bantam chickens....couldn't find it so I am hoping it will be waiting for us in the morning.

Good to see you last night, even if just for a few minutes. I hope you and your son are feeling better soon!

Let me know how the eggs hatch out. I think Rachel is planning on candling her eggs tomorrow.

I would of loved to have swung by your place. We carpooled and the event got done later than I thought it would of. So we will have to plan a special trip when the weather gets nicer.

Oh yea...

We saw numerous pheasants, flocks of wild turkeys, herds of deer driving yesterday and today. Nice to see that there is still a lot of wildlife in the thumb area. don't see to much of it here in Livingston County.

Good morning all, well technically it's morning though it's still dark enough to quaifiy as night. The weather forcast looks like today will be a pretty reasonable day. I'm going to try and build a rollout nest today and start working on the fencing around my garden. It would be cheaper to just clip wing feathers but I think I can make the fencing look alot better and that's always an issue. I'm going to remove all the t-posts and replace them with 4x4s. That will make electrifying it much easier. Hopefully raising the height will keep the birds in and the hot wire will keep the deer out of my beans.

Good morning Opa! Good luck keeping the deer out of your beans- wont they just jump over the hot wire? Oh, I want to run a hot wire around my chicken yard. I dont know how, and my husband is no help. I want to keep my own dogs away from it.

I have the window open in the utility room and in the kitchen and turned the heat off in the house. I was so hot- now looking at the temp, I see it must just be me. Ahhh, oh well- I am the first one up, I get to control the temperature.
