I also got some araucanas from our new Farm and Family store a few weeks ago, but they do have rumps so I'm guessing not true araucanas. I picked out three, a light one, a medium and a dark one. They are all supposed to be pullets but I am thinking that the light one is a cockeral. Seems to be more "in charge" than the others and it's comb looked a little brighter red than the others.
I also picked up a few other chicks the same day. I went with the intention of getting 8 but came home with 16. Then went back later and got 2 more.

Keleka and Chikie momma, I also have a husky, he is red and his name is Kodiak's Midknight Sun, we call him Kodi. Actually I call him a good bad dog:

! I don't trust him around the chicks but hubby does. I will try to post a photo when I can, first I am trying to learn my way around here when I have the time.

so, it was a great, beautiful day today!

first, had to go to U of M for a recheck. pretty much just said, "We'll see you in four months. Sorry we don't have a cure for you." at least i didn't get worse!

then, because i was on best behavior getting my blood draw, Rick took me to the petting zoo at Domino Farm (same campus as the doctor).

i found a little brand new goat who had escaped from her pen. i thought i could just stick her in my purse and run, but since i am old and full of termites, that probably would backfire.

then we where off again heading to Frizzledhen's home. she is the most welcoming, friendly ladies one would ever meet. my husband and me felt like we were 'to home' and comfortable. Cat and Sarah were there also and it was like a big chicken family reunion or something! and Frizzledhen sent us home with some friends!

an entire flock of Rosecomb Rhode Island Reds! here is Bee holding one of the beautiful roo's. they are just big softies.

and two lovely bantam Splash Cochins! we've named one 'Squirrely' and the other one we have to think about a bit...

Grandkids loved them! You know I have that one grand daughter that thinks all the chickens I transport are hers! She just says, My chickens. Actually when I went to her house, she asked me where her chickens were. Zoe thinks I should bring her chickens every week. Can't talk her parents into it, tho.

Don't think I can get her off the nest! She is one determined broody hen. Too bad I don't have any fertilized eggs!

He mentioned that when we met up last week. Also mentioned building a table top incubator.

I think that man can build anything he puts his mind to. All I know is...I so hope he does the incubator project, too. I'd be the first in line to buy one.

and yes, the something is the post about the flock of Reds.

and the man with the incubator for $35 says i can come get it! LG with the circulated air fan and two auto-turn racks. all brand new, never used! and then Saturday we pick up the play house around the corner for free!

if we were blessed anymore this week, i might fall down somewhere!
