What a gorgeous day today was. I was wishing all day to be out in the yard putting my garden together with my chicks running round the yard. I find myself wishing for them to be out in the coop so i can start another batch of fuzzbutts lol!!!! shhhhhh dont tell hubby i said that.

Well hello and goodnight everyone! Had a busy Cinco De Mayo!!! I extended my garden, RAKED AND RAKED AND RAKED, put in a 30' row of beans and cucumbers and ran out of steam

Made the 4 teenagers go outside for an hour giving them all garden implements and they finished cleaning up the garden and getting all my rows together so I can start Planting and Transplanting tomorrow before the rain comes!

I also got fried because like a dummy, didn't put sunscreen on during a cloudy day. ACK!!!!

It's also my wedding anniversary so me and the wife snuck out for dinner in flint. We were so tired we called off going to the movies and both have been laying in bed watch TV for a couple of hours already!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish I could figure out of to turn off my old man alarm clock.

Well good morning all, Today will be another great day. I've got to start drawings for a new chicken coop and trying to locate a trailer for moving the old one. I have just entirely to many chicken project going. Need to finish the chicken tractor, build a coop with a covered run for the proposed bantam flock and now a new coop for my layer flock of rainbow birds. That I'm only going to get 3 or 4 laying hens plan sure didn't work out to well.
I talk with Michelle last night and she informs me that the Welsummer eggs will be hatching on Thursday. Out of 24 she could see 17 chicks for sure. I will be curious to see what the final outcome is. I've got some black copper marans eggs coming this week and I may have to add some Welsummer eggs to the incubator.
Well everyone have a wonderful day. I realize that by the time most of you people get up I will probably be wanting to take a nap.

Morning everyone!! So nice outside that I opened the pop door on the teenagers run. They are 10 weeks old and play fighting all the time

. Fun to watch. Just have to find the time

Opa- enjoy your nap. My mother's favorite spot to nap is in the easy chair with the TV blasting away.

So far I have avoid the call of the recliner and will just get probably get busy doing something as soon as David gets here and tells me what is on our schedule. We have now been working together for twenty years and the relationship is still going strong. While I started the business he now runs it. I think the reason most father and sons businesses fail is that the father doesn't realize when to switch roles. Plus I don't have to work as hard as David.

Planting the garden. That's another thing I've got to add to my to do list. Hope works a couple of days a week at a bakery. They sell the 5 gallon pails that filling comes in for $1 each. I think I am going to buy one for each plant that may be in danger of frost bite. It should make covering them a piece of cake.
