My eight year old brother would much rather shovel snakes than shovel snow. He LOVES snakes. He has a cornsnake as a pet, but usually catches and keeps wild ones for a week or so at a time before letting them go. He's out to catch him a Michigan rattler!

Oh, and good morning!!!

Morning. Yesterday we went to Menards and got some a few things. While we were there I was oogling over fencing and dreaming about my options -- you know what I could do with what. We didn't buy any - just dreaming, ya know. So we went to my brother-in-law's house to visit. On the way home, hubby saw some fencing for sale at a home. So he stopped to see what it was and how much. Well, we bought it -- all (seven rolls). It was new heavy, heavy duty field fencing. He thought it was at least a 150' roll. Turns out it's 330' roll. My goodness -- now we have more than enough to fence in our five acres and then some! Not that we are going to. So now my imagination can run wild!!!!!!!! Looked it up TSC and it runs for 260.00/roll. We paid 42.85/roll. YAY -- what a deal!!!!

CHICKEEMOMMA! that is such a total blessing! you know what that is????

F A V O R!!!!!!!

briana...how old is that cockerel? if he's just come in to maturation he's just as confused as he can be from hormones. whop him hard enough that he understands. that's what another chicken would do. they have claws that they would use on one another.

if i remember correctly, these guys are pretty young still. if i am wrong and he's a little older than this, or if he doesn't settle down in a week or so, eat him and get him outta Dodge.

oh, i forgot to add for you Sarah....

growing up, i lived near MetroBeach Metro Park.

they did nature walks and all that there. during a guided tour one day this little boys raises his hand and the guide calls on him.

boy: shoves his hand out and says, "What kind of snake is THIS?
guide: "Um, son, hold still. What you have is a Rattlesnake."

they are hard to find, but we do have a nice number of rattlers in Michigan.

we have seen a huge amount of snakes this year. (Briana and I saw one lovely one together with our kids actually!)

spiders, not so much. no honey bees, no spiders, no bugs. it's strange. hardly any flies either. only two big hatches of flies. there should of been more really. and hardly any wasps. nada.

it's weird. really weird. i think someone told me it was because the winter was so cold.

I changed my avatar, y'all! Just wanted to alert you.

Also, I finally figured out how to snatch my photos back from Myspace (the original files were lost when the home computer crashed a while back).

Here's the hardform cake I made for my grandparents' 50th anniversary. They never had a church wedding, so they hosted a renewal of their vows. I'm taking the cake to the county fair this year.

MJ, they are 16 weeks now. I didn't want him causing major damage to the turkeys. The hens and the little silkie roo are all fine with them. The rooster is in the big brooder for now. I am gonna give him 2 days and put him back out and sit and watch. The crowing in the basement is gonna drive my husband nuts when he gets home.

You're welcome! I have to admit, I jumped at the chance to share the link! Everyone else has been handing it out right and left!

I'm kinda giddy this morning. Might be the nerves... I have an interview tonight for a scholarship... ugh.
