Good morning all, I'm sure hoping that it isn't as humid today and it was yesterday. That sure made it difficult to work for very long. Got a couple of jobs to go to this morning and then can beets this afternoon.

Good morning friends! Right now its 59 degrees and it feels wonderful. Yesterday we hit 95 with 100 percent humidity YUCK!!. Then the storm hit. Everyone was out playing in it - me, kids, dogs, chickens, and especially the ducks. Boy, did that feel good.

Morning everyone! I sure hope it will not be as hot or humid as the last two days. I had to work during that outside in the nursery......you know it's bad when your eyes sting form sweat, and you're sitting still.

We are off to my sister's today to work on another new jump order. Plus we had a customer pick up a wall jump that I faux painted to make look like a log pile. She liked it so much she ordered a faux rock wall now! Yeah! Maybe something good will come from my sister and I being laid off.

On a sad note I'm already missing a duck. I've just started letting them out to range and when I got home from work he was not there. I don't know if he wandered away, or something got him. I have a hard time thinking that something got him as he was very dark, the white ones are still here, and all the chickens are accounted for. I'm trying to work up the nerve to go check my neighbors pond, but they are always home.

zephyrcreek sorry to hear about your duck

cristy, Sorry to hear about your Banty

I'm off to try to fix the baby silkies legs, going to try to make it a Hobble, i read a few post and I'm going to try use a small rubber band, because of the feather legs.

I have to find a new home for these two:

They are the only two remaining Araucana mixes I have left that are free-ranging. I have tried to keep them in a tractor, but the hen just won't have it. The reason I have to get rid of them is because they are garden-eaters. And my dad won't have that.

The hen is a bit finicky, as I said, and won't stay in a tractor or coop for very long. She has been laying blue/green eggs every day since I've caught her and put her in a cage. The roo is very friendly, though a bit wild, but could be integrated easily into any flock, I believe. He is the last of four roos we had, and was the least dominate.

They would do well with a home where they can free-range as they have all their lives, and only stay in a coop at night. (they do return to our coop at night but can't stand to be in there during the day)

I'm in the Sodus area, PM me if you're interested!

Good morning!

Cristy, sorry about your banty.
Opa, how is your bald headed chicken? I hope she is doing better every day.

Oh, Sarah good luck finding a home for your chickens.

This past dog show in Wisconsin went ok. The first day, it was canceled because of thunderstorms, and the second day my pup was too excited and wouldn't stop jumping up and down, biting at my skirt, trying to play. She actually put a tooth hole in my skirt right in the middle of the show ring!

We may have to try those sometime. I do NOT want to do the cornish x again. Could be because we just spent the last 2 days sending 19 of them to freezer camp.

DH is talking about having the Amish process them for us next time IF there is a next time. So how long before a dixie is ready to go to freezer camp?
