Good morning Vicki, I am glad your head is feeling better. If you think it is sinus related try a sinus flush. It really helps. I was always glad when the boys went back to school too so don't feel bad.

Do you think that the mother hens could be going thru a molt after their nesting? One of them has had a huge poop similiar to what they were when she was laying on the eggs.....wanting to nest again??????

Afternoon everyone. Going down to MJ's tomorrow to pick up my Dixie Rainbows. It will be my first time raising meaties on my own. When I was younger, I helped my Grandpa with his Cornish Xs. Can't wait to get them!

Will anyone be around on Saturday for us to pick up? I talk about you all the time to DH and was hoping to drag him with me if everyone will be around.

Good Afternoon!

Our neighborhood could be a soap opera. With just 20 families there seems to be a lot going on!

Most recently:

My Sister in laws agressive dog that has attacked everyone walking past her house, including myself, was shot 2 nights ago by my brother. (the plot thickens). He was walking down the rail road track (the tracks splits my SIL's property, fenced off but not the crossing) and the dog ran down the fenceline and unto the tracks and went after him, he was 50 rail road ties from the crossing (while my SIL was calling him, but not listening), so he shot him with his concealed weapon. the dog didn't die, my SIL took it to a vet and instead of having him put down, she has a huge vet bill.

My SIL told the vet one thing: my brother walked into her yard and shot it while it layed in the grass. So now the police and prosecuter is involved!

There is blood eviedence on the tracks where it really happened, so my brother is telling the truth. Don't understand why my SIL would lie.

One of the neigbors heard the whole thing too. It was almost dark when it happened. They are eager to talk to the police, the dog had gone after them too. They called animal control and left a message, but no one called back.

My brother is at the police station as I type, talking to the cop, giving his version of what happened. He did call 911 went he got home after it happened. So there is that record too.

I really hope the dog gets put down. He will attack again. He tries his hardest to get off the chain, acting all aggressive, while people walk down the road.

So we will see what happens......

MJ: I wonder if it is the same person stealing critters, but at least my cat came back. Maybe the ducks will just come back too.
Some one down the road from me had their little toy dog stolen a few weeks ago, and they haven't seen it again, poor thing. I guess that's what I get for living in the city.

wylie: wow that is a crazy story. You should write a book about it.

First we were only getting 10, then I happened to BBQ a couple on the grill beer can and pepsi can style and we LOVED THEM. Then I decided I needed 15. Now I am seriously wondering if I need more!

Boy it takes a long time to read all the post and catch up. So Happy to hear that your husband gets to keep his job Cat. All the chicken pictures, beautiful. MJ the rain jacket and story about the mud, birds and eyeball picking. SO FUNNY. I had to read it out loud to Art. I sure hope your felling better. Hillbilly maybe the headaches are allergy related? There was so much more but hard to remember.

We had a great time in Indian River, then it was down to Muskegon, then back home to lower SE Michigan. I think I passed signs for most of the towns where everyone lives. Michigan Adventures was a lot of fun too.

My husband is looking forward to another Chickenstock, and Fowlfest. It will be his big 40 birthday. I think he is hoping I will forget it is his 40th. Everyone that is going will have to help me let him know I won't let it pass forgotten. MUUHAHAHAAAA.......

Sarah---sorry to hear about the dog drama---that is just a horrible situation all the way around.

MJ--glad to hear you are still hanging in there and that your kids are being so super to you!!!!

Hope everyone else is having a good day, and that there are no more lost pets/ducks/chickens or whatever else. I am now recovering from a 6 hour shift running the cub scout dart booth at Old Fashioned Days. It was hot, even in the shade of the booth. The little kids were so cute, though, playing the duck pond game we also ran. They'd pick up the duckie and be so happy to pick out a little trinket!! For a moment, it made we wish my kids were little like that again. Tonight is the fireworks. We are having friends over to have a bon fire and then watch them from our back yard. It should be fun.
