We have coyotes around us, too. We can hear them yipping and howling in the field across the road sometimes...creepy. We don't have him anymore, but we witnessed our girls' pony chase one out of the pasture a couple of years ago. He was checking out the goat pen.

Good Morning all, have a great weekend. Welcome to the newcomers. DD is coming home from MSU today. Her birhtday is tomorrow. Nice to have a long weekend for her. You all have a good weekend now.

btw. beautiful little coop Opa.

Mornin new michiganfriends -
Slept in today...Brother is a highschool football coach...and his boys are playing....went to the game (they won) and a little get together afterwards..got to bed late....I love small town highschool football what a great atmosphere! and I mean small...their school graduates 50-60 kids a year...

what a beautiful morning to be outside...

Best of luck w/ that coyote Opa...sounds like you have no trouble getting him...

MJ - you'll need a nap before the day's over....

Gotta get started on my day...hope everybody enjoys theirs.

Rachel last bantam to hatch is dieing. It has the worst crooked beak. I am taking it outside in a minute.

Lots to do today. Walked 6.5 miles this morning. I am finally not sore anymore

Finishing cleaning out a flowerbed. Picking apples and making cider and maybe applesauce! And all the usual house duties

oh, that sounds fun!

nap? i'm sorry, can you explain this term, i am so lost. what the heck is that? how do i find one? where does one buy it? do i wear it? is it expensive? are they for decoration?

Naps are something that old guys can take anytime they want. When my son look at the work that needs to be done and then at me sleeping in my recliner he always tells Hope "let Dad sleep, he must be tired".

just came in to take a break - I didn't realize that Bay City was a little over a 2 hour drive - any ideas on what might be more central? MJ, looks like it will be 1.55 hrs from Lapeer too - Address and I'll mapquest it...but I would be able to be there until after 7...have to WORK!

and honestly....the 2+ hour drive may be too much for hubby w/his new hip -

The coyote hasn't shown up yet. Probably since I have a gun sitting at the ready he won't show his furry face around here until I head south.
Sarah (WileyFarm) and her brood were here this afternoon to get apples. I'm glad to see them go to good use rather than just feeding all of them to the deer and woodchucks. I have one woodchuck who seldom lives the apple pile out back. I think he is gaining in size as I watch him.
Sarah's oldest daughter Rachael, has fallen in love with the blue orpington pair that I have. They are young birds and the pullet has only been laying for less than a month. I did however, send Rachael home with 5 eggs so let's keep our fingers crossed for her. In a couple of days we will start saving eggs again to have ready for her in case these don't candle.
I sure was nice having little kids over that are well mannered. They helped their mother but still managed to run, play, climb ladders and trees and be kids, and having them here was a pleasure. Sarah is doing a great job raising her flock.

Sounds like everyone is putting this beautiful day to good use.

We picked blueberries this morning. Got a few more bags for the freezer, set aside some for a pie tomorrow, and then made bread pudding with some of the blueberries and some raspberries from the garden. I am looking forward to dessert tonight!! I am hoping DH and the kids get more work done on the coop tonight. I will be glad when that project is done.
