just got done chatting with Mommi3130 in the driveway for a bit. nice to see you again dear!!!

oh my...we had some delicious Barred Rocks for dinner! Elizabeth grabbed two up and i 'sent them to the promised land'. parted them out and then sprinkled with Lawry's. put them into the pressure cooker, added water and agave. cooked for 15 minutes.
made a grilling sauce with dijon, agave, red pepper, balsamic and a little more Lawry's to brush on. threw the pieces on the grill after pulling out of the pressure cooker and then brushed on the sauce. oh my. it was awesome. served with corn on the cob (that was slathered with butter, garlic, Lawry's and pepper) and broccoli. gosh, we're stuffed.

My chicky girls are sooooo much easier!! They are now giving me about 8 eggs a day. Just about every day I go out there and there are more eggs than the day before. It's funny how they are the same age but they are all different at the time they start laying.

Good Evening!

Long and fun day today. Got 3 gallons of cider pressed and canned this evening. Started on some applesauce, I left the skin on since the were small and the apples after being cooked are pinkish. Hope it doesn't matter on the taste! I am going to finish them up tomorrow, too tired to work another hour or so.

Opa- Rachel has the eggs in the bator and threw in an ameraucana egg she got today too. I have some cider for you too.

We had one of Jon's racing buddies and his family over for dinner tonight. They wanted to see how to make apple cider. They want to get a press and make their own cider and try a garden and canning/freezing next year.

Just a quick good morning. Taking some time to make a big breakfast. eggs, bacon and some home fries. Opa do you have hazelnut creamer? I have to have my hazelnut creamer. Then it's off the start canning again. We do the water bath type. I think that is what you call it. Have gotten at least 60 quarts down so far to date. That is between us and the parents. We split everything. Today it is tomato juice, then a few more quarts of sauce. We have 32 tomato plants in our garden and my FIL has at least 20 in his. BLT last night fo dinner with sweetcorn picked from the garden. Yum.

Good Morning!....I Mean Good Afternoon!

I got to sleep in this morning! The boys got up and were yelling mom's not here. I startled Nathan when he walked into my bedroom for the 2nd time.

Went to church and now we are cleaning up the house some before heading out to a pool party.

Have a great day everyone!

Sarah
