hence the term, "to catch a fox". they are smart, smart, smart.

red fox are beautiful creatures, but they don't need to use your coop as a McD's drive thru. do you have a dog????

Miss_Jayne That is a beautiful little pullet! Absolutely gorgeous!

Well, the roo we bought a while back to add to our flock has finally figured out he's a man. He started doing his love dance this morning. Four times in as many minutes.

He has been a very good boy thus far, here's hoping he stays that way now that he's found his testosterone. I'd hate to have to make dumplings out of him.

Trapping fox is supposed to be really hard. Might be easier to use flybait or a dog. We were having major fox issues, neighbors still are, but we have had no troubles since Remi arrived, our Maremma. Even though he is in with the goats, he is enough to deter any wily fox from coming near our yard.

If you have a dog, even an inside dog, perhaps walking them around the outside of your yard, letting them mark their territory, so to speak, even brushing them and leaving hair around, might help keep the fox at bay, they hate dogs.

I love Godzilla movies!!! My kids have enjoyed the ones they have seen, they especially like the one with baby Godzilla. Oh----I can do a mean impression of the mothra girls singing their mothra song. I remember watching Sir Graves Ghastly's saturday horror movie show out of Detroit. It was fantastic, I wish it were still on. It showed all the classics.

School and work keeps me busy, and while I do check in I don't post too often. Our flock is doing just fine. Yesterday I went out to look in on them and found five chicks peeking out from under our one broody. These are the first ones that have hatched out. You know, I originally ordered chicks from Mt. Healthy last year. I have had a 0% mortality rate with those chickens and now they are reproducing. If anyone is looking for a hatchery to order from, Mt Healthy gets my endorsement.

Laura----glad to see you are a member of the sir Graves Ghastly/Godzilla club too. I wish you could find rebroadcasts of the show, or even find Godzilla ones on tv!!! Here in the Flint area they used to have the afterschool movies when I was growing up. A different theme each week------my favs were the monster/Godzilla weeks and also Beach Blanket Bingo week with Frankie and Annette. I know my kids would laugh, then think I was even weirder if they saw those crazy beach movies. Go Moondoggie!!!!

Okay---gotta go. Homemade bread in ready to get out of the oven, homemade pop tarts are cooling.
