yes, I do have 5 dogs. But they are rarely let out the front where the coop is. My dog passed away this summer. 6/26. She was allowed to go do chores with me, as she would listen well. The others, not so much. I pretty much keep them penned in the back yard, or in the house. If it will help, I will start bringing one or two out front for a bit daily. I keep the chickens up all the time till we get rid of that fox. I love to let them free range, but I don't like losing them. I have been letting them out, when I have time to chicken sit out with them. And I don't think those silly comets know when it is time to go to bed. I swear it is dark, and they still want to hang out.

Seems like everyone is on the mend now, thank goodness.
You all sure have been chatty the last few days. I have been working, so not alot of time for here.
Good night all,

Denise

hence the term, "to catch a fox". they are smart, smart, smart.

red fox are beautiful creatures, but they don't need to use your coop as a McD's drive thru. do you have a dog????

Denise...sorry to see that one of your dogs passed. that was my daughter's b'day.

yes, start taking one with you maybe to get doggy scent everywhere.

i hope that may help. silly Comets, go to bed!

MJ -- Happy belated Birthday!!

Seems it was a good one!

Sam - glad to see you made it back safely.

Anyone watching the State vs. Wisconsin game? DD and I have a date this afternoon to watch. Guys will be out hunting. Should be a great game. We actually know several players on both sides. Don't really care who wins - just want to see if friends are on tv!!

Have a great day.

PS -- the Year of the Horse expo sounds great. Wish we were a little closer. We have a Equine Fest in Esky this weekend. But last year, there was nothing there -- figured this year even worse.

Good Morning Everyone!

Got a little rain in the night. I got to sleep in til 7:45am!

Felt bad for the dog, since he is use to going out at 5:15am. But I am glad for the sleep

Good Morning, Michigan!

MJ -- What an adorable cake!

Wylie -- Congrats to Rachel on the chicks.

I opened my mouth too soon last night, telling the girls we could probably go to the Orchard and Cider Mill today. It is cold and wet out there now, with the rain we got overnight and I'm still feeling terrible. So while they do crafts I'm trying to think of an alternative.

Heat up the oven and let the girls make some apple crisp, baked apples or Carmel dipped apples. Those have always been favorites in our house with the kids. Might have to make a trip to the grocery store but at least you can get back home and rest.

Hope you feel better soon Olive

i agree with Ooopsy, get some rest and let the girls chill at home. they could make baked apples even. super easy. core out the apple and stuff with a chunk of butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. bake until soft. cake work. and you can sit and just rest too.
