Good Morning everyone. Going to get an early start this morning. Painting my DD room. Since she is gone to school, we just thought we would paint and such. Decided not to make her room into anything else just yet. She is planning on being here summers and holidays, so, she may as well have a room. lol It is hard though, I mean I could have my own chicken nursery in there. haha

Thank you to everyone the birthday was great. My son had my old pocket watched fixed for my birthday. My wife was so happy to have found what it needed the boy was driving her nuts.

The daughter got me a camo hat. Plus alot of other goodies.

Hate to ask, but I need prayers today. I have another eye appointment today and if there have been any changes in the "freckle' in the back of my eye then the doctor is talking about surgery. A freckle can turn into cancer which is why the doctor has been checking it every three months for any changes. I am hoping that there is no change.

How many of you butcher your own chickens? Just wondering. I have an appointment for my meaties, but it's about an hour and a half away. So for 19 meaties I'm thinking of just doing it myself. Plus there's a few who could use another week or so.

Don't do my own processing, I have had the Amish do some for me as well. They seem to do a nice job and the cost is ok. I would love to be able to do it myself. but I just don't think I have that kind of time. Have you checked out the meat bird area here. they have lots of info there and some with pics.

Just went down to check and no new chicks. The one hatched on Sunday, and I am kinda surprised she is still sitting on the others. I checked them on tuesday night and they all looked ok. I hope they hatch soon.

Hillbillyhen-Hope you appt goes great and they find no changes!

I process my own meaties, my FIL helped me the first couple of times. The last time we did 20 and it took us a good half a day or so. It really helps to have someone with you who has done it before.

I baked up 4 loaves of cinnamon raisin bread this morning and then gave away 3 loaves and 2 dozen eggs. I love to surprise friends with baked goods. It feels so good to do something nice. I gave my friend at the feed mill a loaf and a dozen eggs and he gave me 25lbs of rabbit feed for FREE!! I couldn't believe it, what a nice guy!

This sunshine sure is nice!
