I keep going through the same thing when I see all the pic's...then I remember I have a brooder and incubator full. Hee Hee. Plus I did order some geese with Vicki. I have a feeling I'm going to look around one day and say "what was I thinking?".

I've got some chicks due to hatch on the 22nd from my blue wheaten Ameraucana roo and a very pretty EE hen. Should be some very cute EE chicks...if anyone is interested in some awesomely cute, poofy cheeked, fuzzy butts, just let me know!

Larry, I dont think you're an odd ball at all. I have 6 different breeds and they all are seperated and putting them each out to free range can be a lot of work. As I still have to put up divider runs for each inside section. Honestly wish I only had 1 or 2 breeds.

I was only going to have 3 or 4 welsummer hens. Great plan. Totally easy to manage. Then I accidentally wound up with BAs. Then somehow I accidently got a pair of SLW. First thing I knew I had accidently wound up with 12 different breeds and 17 different colors. Life is tough when you're accident prone.

Ok. I had to share a pic of one of my cut little fuzz butts.

2 week old Dominique Pullet. These are very active little chicks. They are zipping around the brooder, and I've even watched a few fly.
I also keep finding them on top of the waterer. Wow. They are just little speed racers.

Larry-

We have an assortment of breeds that all stay together. We don't have roos out with the laying hens. Just the bantam roos with the correct bantam hens

I like the assortment of colors and variety of eggs

Sarah, my bantams will all be separated by breed this week. Although the blue orpington rooster has been with all the bantams hen for a week now so he has probably breed his hen. So in about two weeks I will start saving blue bantam orpington eggs for you if your daughter still wants them.

For those folks who pm'd me....here's a pic of the parent stock. The wheaten Ameraucana hen in the pic is NOT the mama to these chicks...the other hen (the EE) is.

My EE hen doesn't have green legs, as you can tell by the following leg pic.

This is a pic of these 2 hens' eggs for color comparison...the egg on the left is from the wheaten Ameraucana hen and the egg on the right is from my EE hen.

I spent a good part of the day cleaning out my kitchen cabinets and running back and forth to the brooder coop to check on the babies, now i feel like this

. It seems like spring cleaning takes me longer and longer to do every year. Funny thing is the older I get the cleaner things seem to stay so it should not take so long to do the spring cleaning.

Ellen and Shelly I love the pics.
