I had to go into work today.... going to be a long one! Doing generator testing and each one takes 4 hours, I have 2 to be tested. The generators are each in houseings the size of a semi trailer... fan blades are 6' in diameter! So, they're big and loud! Luckily I don't have to do anything but open and close the gates!

I guess if I had to do anything today, getting paid over time for doing nothing isn't too bad!

Here's the new chicks I hatched out the past couple of days.

8 silkies, and one EE ( I'm thinking she is an olive egger. ) I'm not sure what color those two white silkies will be, but they are cute.

There they are in all their silkie glory.

The little EE chick is the odd ball out.

The storm here was far off to the north, few booms and a little bit of a light show, rained for about 1/2 hour and that was it. Ony thing is, its scary calm here right now. Not a bird chirp'n, no wind. Maybe calm before the rath??

Mom2em: Glad you got to enjoy your morning coffee without the annoying neighbor dog. My neighbors lab comes here constantly, goes in my barns then when I walk in, she lunges at me barking. She's a fear biter. I told her owners they are lucky they have children or otherwise they would have found her in a nice box in their driveway yrs ago.

The 'Music Man' was awesome last night!!!!! It was great to hear the audience laugh and applaud at all the hard work everyone has done since January.

Very cute chicks Bluemoon!!

Sevenchickens hatch them out and bring them to chicken stock. Sell them or give them away as prizes there. I would love to hatch out some bantams but I have started collecting my turkey eggs to put into the incubator. I am bringing the poults to chickenstock.

There is someone interested in the eggs, but if it doesn't work out to meet I'll be hatching them all out I'm sure! As it is I'm hatching out 2 dozen for sure, so I'm thinking that there will be some at Chickenstock regardless.

Just went down to the pond and my Pekin drake is gone again. He must have ladies across the street, gosh who knows. These birds have a mind of their own. But with such a nice big pond for them, I hate to lock them up 24/7

Here is a picture of Matuse and her Duckling companion that is seriously watching her swim. Matuse is hard to see but if you look inside the pool at 6:00 you'll see her under the water diving. So darn cute. Then she'll pop up out of the water, jump out of the pool and run with her lil wings up 100 mph. Then back into the pool for round 2. They had me laughing so hard this morning, my stomach is sore. Got'a love'em

Edit to say these mini pools are only $6 at Dollar General. Easy to flip over to empty and clean. Great for about 4-6 baby ducks
