Why are you geting rid of her?

I don't have big runs and she keeps starting stuff with the other new hens. I think she needs to go somewhere where she can free-range

I think the the black hen is a Australorp, does it have gray to black lags? The buff you one is very blurry in the pic, but buy the feather color only I would guess she is a Red Star/sex link.
Hope this helps,
Dawn

Yeah, I am pretty sure the black hen is an Australorp, she's got a pretty green sheen on her feathers. Not sure about her legs. The big hen I want to find a home for I believe is a Jersey Giant.

If it is a Jersey Giant, and you would like to get rid of her....I am a 4-Her and would love to take her in. I have many other chicken friends for her to have fun with. You can PM me with any more information.

Hi all!

I think we lost our wild rooster this week. The turkeys are back and he could be off with them like he has done the last 2 years he has been around but I found a bunch of small feathers, no body and no large feathers, but I think he may be gone!

We are terribly sad about this but hopeful that he will return soon.

The 2 girls we got for him really miss him and I think they are either softly calling for him or they are crying. Do chickens cry? It almost sounds like a soft purring sound they are making.

I was supposed to go and help make the coop and run area ready for winter last weekend but I chose to come this weekend to help out and found it may be too late for him. We were going to enclose the run area so that when he went inside he couldn't get back out and hopefully he would learn to roost in the coop.

So we accomplished everything we were going to do minus the enclosure in case he does come back he can still fly into the run with the girls.

We are just very sad by his disappearance.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!
