We are back in Fife Lake with our two new coops!! Have to wait until the snow, sleet and hail they're predicting for tomorrow passes to set the coops up. Hopefully within a week they will be in the proper spot and we need to add windows and vents.
RIRJen...we used to put bag balm on cows chapped udders so I think that would be good for the comb.

Bag balm is fantastic! I can't believe how expensive it's become! I used it religiously for all my farm animals growing up and now I use it for the acute psoriasis on my scalp and legs! When some of my chickens had frost bite I couldn't find bag balm anywhere (thus the reason for using neosporin) so I ordered some on ebay because I refused to pay the ridiculous price in the store!

DH has skin issues also...he uses it for eczema. We both use it on our hands. If the weather would warm up and we could shut down our heaters none of us would have half the skin issues that blasted winter brings on! Blast!! Really annoyed with the forecast....looks like Farmers Almanac was right on predicting a cold spring for us. I'm afraid to look at summer predictions.

So the new incubator is up and going. I know I probably shouldn't have done it but I gently and quickly moved the duck eggs over so there would be room for the chickens and there's still more than enough room for the Aracaunas when they get here. I feel so much better and I think I have this under control! All I know is I can't wait until chickenstock.

Speaking of which, I need to add to the list of things I'm bringing

Isa Browns
3 BR Roos
1 Americauna x RIR roo - He looks more RIR - Trade for very young Americauna Roo?

In the want list I want to add Jersey Giant hens and BCM hens and roos. OMG I wish I could get my hands on them. We're already going to build the pens just in case!!

This is just what we have for now. It will also depend on what comes out of the incubator which will probably include frizzles (hen and roo from FrizzledHen) and Pekins and whatever else.

Aric's loud and obnoxious roo has taken to "getting together" with the ducks. I wish this snow/rain would quit so we could build the separation pens.

RIRJen: Are you going to Alma for Spring Fowl Fest? I will be there with my DD she is showing a Roo too that she raised from a chick last year. I'll be in a "Chicks Rule" t-shirt.
