happy saturday all, hope you and your flocks are well. I am asking for assistance with a d.anver cockeral I have who has either injured his beak or is deformed or has some disintigrating beak disease. Here is the thread where the pics are. If you have a minute and can look I would appreciate your opinions. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6703859#p6703859

Thanks
everyone. I will be heading to the feed store but will be checking back often today.

what a way to spend Saturday is this?

Realized I was out or layer mash myself this morning. Just got back from the feed store. The meaties that I thought were back ordered evidently are still expected on time so I had better get busy cause they should be here Tuesday morning. I know what I'm doing the rest of the weekend.

I hate TSC too that's why we get all our supplies at Menards or Walmart. It must be the day for building. Aric's mom was going to Menard's earlier and she bought some wood and chicken wire for us because the chickens have decided to dig holes under the back wall of the run and some of them were loose this morning. She's always bringing us stuff!

I think between Aric and I and his mom we practically live at Menard's!! It's a good thing it's about 20 miles away haha

Another silkie hatched last night. It's white like the other one

It's been a crazy busy day. If I want to be able to go fishing later I think I need to take a nap!

I don't have any but there will be a large rabbit show happening at the same time as Chickenstock about 25 minutes away in Mason. I'm going to it in the morning and will as around and see what I can find for you...how much are they willing to spend for 3-6 of them? I'll ask around and see what I can find for you!

Went to the rabbit show in Charlotte,MI today and had a great time! I won Best in Show in the second show with my Belgian Hare buck LLR's Vinnie!!
(there were about 400+ rabbits entered in Open so it was a great win!)

I read that contaminated food can cause a similar problem. Let us know what you fine out and good luck.

Yeah, I have switched brands because I just didn't think the young ones were thriving on the stuff from one of the feed places here. We are back to Kalmbach which I have used in the past. I plan on continuing nutridrench daily and yogurt to boost the little guy. My DD pointed out we are using a metal feeder in their run. I didn't think there were sharp edges but he could have very well got his beak caught and injured himself pulling away.
