Yeah, I have switched brands because I just didn't think the young ones were thriving on the stuff from one of the feed places here. We are back to Kalmbach which I have used in the past. I plan on continuing nutridrench daily and yogurt to boost the little guy. My DD pointed out we are using a metal feeder in their run. I didn't think there were sharp edges but he could have very well got his beak caught and injured himself pulling away.
Could it be from a fight? We had 3 BR roos that used to fight all the time (we found a good home for them) and one of them had a missing part of his beak from one of the fights. I also used to have d'anvers too and they would pick on hens and roos no matter what their size and had a few injuries. I re-homed them to a lady who loved them so much she gave me a couple of her ducks.
