Mind if I ask where they came from?..

I have a buff cochin that will NOT stop being broody!! I remove her a minimum of 5 x'x per day....she is always there when I check. I have another red comet broody doing the same thing so I gave her 6 barnyard mix eggs and they are due in around 8 days. Makes it hard when I have egg demand higher than what I'm getting and two quit laying!

On a side note everyone....yesterday my hubby got his cardio conversion and is now normal like the rest of us! (intentionally put...ha ha). He is back with a normal heart beat now! Prayers answered Thank you Lord!

Greeting from the EMU Fish Lake campus,
Found a few moments to check the forum before class starts.
Too many pages to read right now, but I'll get back to them later.
You folks sure do like to post.

Anyway, spent the last 2 days in the swamp and going to another swamp today.
I'm in my element!

I hope my dogs, cats and chickens are being well cared for. Guess I'll find out tonight when I get home.

Stay cool today, supposed to be near 100 here.

Linda, that's great news. That has to take a lot of pressure off of you.

It's going to be extremely hot and humid today and I don't intend to do much of anything other than try to stay cool. Hope is all ready out planting some flowers I got yesterday and I weeded the garden last night. I'll go water the garden in a little while, then put the hose on some bushes we planted last seek.

I'm sure glad that our refrigerator ice maker is working since this kind of weather we will be using a lot of ice.

Remind me Opa not to ever get YOUR ice if I visit your home....

Ice coming out of THAT shoot is a little offputting.

Thanks...it is a relief. Hopefully he will stay in normal rhythm until his "ablation". We see the surgeon for consult July 19.

Enjoy the day Michigan. I LOVE North Michigan in the summertime!

Good news fifelake, glad to hear your DH did well.
Going to be a beautiful day, which is a good thing cause I got plenty of stuff to do! My last hatch this year is DONE, one little lemon blue bantam cochin from 6 eggs -which puts my total from the eggs I most wanted at 1 out of 22. Sigh.
Hillbilly, you have icelandics! Are you in the breeding project? They are really cool looking, aren't they?

Fifelakelooper...not sure if anyone has suggested this, but you can break a broody by putting her in a wire bottom cage. It might take 3-5 days to break her, but that's better than the 1-2 weeks she's going to stay broody without the "persuasion".

And congrats on your DH's good health report.

Good Morning! My project is done! (well almost) I'll have to go down and take a picture of the inside of the coop. I added more nesting boxes using milk crates I found at Target. There was someone selling them for super cheap but it wasn't worth the gas to go get them. I think the girls liked it. Now I am going to rummage through the woods across the street to see if I can find a cool funky log for the run.

fife - I am so glad to hear about your husband and that your prayers were answered.

Woot!

Opa - what you described about the dust trombone makes me picture a blunderbuss. HAHA....that would be cool. Of course I don't think the girls would find the same nerdy pleasure I would out of it.

I sure wish I could have found the old style brass trombone duster like I used to have; the one I picked up this morning is plastic but will do the job. It's a more effecient and effective method of dusting your coop and your birds. The total cost at Home Depot including the governor was $15.87. It also come with an 18" extention wand
