It is worth it to learn how to do sub cutaneous injections of cool fluid, I have had to do it a few times for my large black hairy boys, and once when my old schnauzer was dehydrated from being sick, when I rush them to the vet they charged me 75 bucks for a emergency visit, plus keeping them over night and then testing even though I knew it was heat exhaustion. This heat is very dangerous for our 4 legged friends. Best wishes and I hope he feels better soon.
Once they collapse from heat exhaustion they are MORE likely to have it happen again, so be aware.

I felt bad for my chick today. I think it just had issues with heat since I brought it home. Everyone else made it through the day fine. I'm not supposed to be out in weather above 85 or below 20 but Aric and I took turns going out to check on animals once an hour or more. Every time we went out we sprayed the ducks and lightly misted the chickens and refreshed ponds. We changed out frozen bottles of water so the chickens or ducks could lay on them and threw in some fruit popsicles. I didn't lock up everyone until later because of the humidity. Even at almost 11 pm it's still 80 degrees with 69% humidity. Insane!

With all of that, we've also had a MAJOR family crisis with one of my kids so needless to say I've barely had a chance to sit or do anything I wanted...like eat since last night...guess I better go do that now lol

Yes! It's like your body remembers the trama and freaks out. If you need to do any work, please do it before the height of the heat.

Aye, it rained good and hard here from 10pm last night to around 2am! Which means as it starts to get HOT it will also be like a steam sauna
