Anyone wanting a part English/part American "splash" Orpington roo...I have a very handsome one available. I have two roos...a black and a splash and if I could...would keep both for breeding. However...I can't due to the total number of English Orps and Jersey Giants I intend to keep. The roo is 3 months old. PM me if interested. Too pretty to eat and before I post on Craig's...wanted to offer him up.

That will be my fall/spring project(converting a shed to a Chicken coop)! Then I can start my flock!

So this heat...is AWFUL!! I just can't deal with anymore

I lost another girl. She was laying on the floor under the lower roosting bar when I opened up the coop this morning. She one of the older girls that we recieved from a friend. I have no idea how old she was but she will be missed. Her name was Flo. :: sigh ::

I decided to bring my little 6 week old chicks inside last night. They complained about it for quite a while but finally settled down and went to sleep. I put a frozen jug of water in front of the fan that I had in the coop last night. I hope that made some kind of air conditioner for them, at least until it melted. I don't want to see my next water or electric bill. Sprinklers misting chickens most of the day and the air conditioner running 24/7, it will not be pretty.

Movin sand...eww. cutting wood-we should be too, but we wait till the weather is cooler and the round-up works on poison ivy!

But first I have to fill in on a golf league- blahh!! too hot, but cant let my sister forfeit because of this stinkin heat!

I'd wait as well, but my friend's wood is in her driveway and she has a garage sale starting tomorrow. The sand is in the trailer that I need, so...

Besides, I can sweat off this beer gut.
