Here are the pictures of what my DH did to the coop. Only half the shed was dedicated to the birds and now they have double the amount of room. I am not sure if they know what to do with themselves right now. LOL

...and poor Blueberry.... she is going to make me give her some eggs isn't she ?

so we screened in one side of the coop so we could get some air flow into the coop:

Mine too hickchick!! I have HUGE tomatoes ....tons of tomatoes! Maybe it is because we didn't get too much rain like downstate? I used a soaker hose this year and found mine didn't get diseases like in the past...so I thought that was why they did so good.

Jen -- are you going to be trying another breed in their place or just cutting back on chickens?

I have a girlfriend who has that...she has to stay CLEAR of the chicken coop. She called it something else but told me it was from when she use to have chickens and cleaned the coop....the dust does it.
That is going to be really hard on your son. I am sorry he has had this happen but I know you are thankful it wasn't even more serious. Hugs to your son...

Makes me wonder if we should be wearing masks when we clean the coops?

Chickwannb...good job! (Your kitchen looks lovely)

HA! Fife, you only see the part of the kitchen I work in. DH is a terrible mess-maker and it usually takes me awhile to clean up that one corner before I can work. I want sterility when I can and/or cook. It's clean every night before I go to bed, but when I wake up I have to do it all over again

some things never change. but he let me have the chickens so I won't peep much about it.

Thats a real BUMMER able chicken dust disease. Guess I'll start wearing a dust mask when Im in there cleaning up from now on. I didn't know that. Hope it works out so you don't have to get rid of them all.

they are beautiful, wish I could, but need to see if I have enough space for what I have now going thru a winter with having to keep them in. Good luck.

My loving hubby is helping me work on the new coop today!

Cody Wyoming is a great town to visit. The Cody museum is actually three museums. The Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Draper Museum of Natural History, and the Cody Fire Arms Museum. Definately a great place to visit. North of town going towards Yellowstone is "Old History Trail Town" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Trail_Town Small but it is a must see exhibit.

I have the silkies and a couple random birds....just decided not to stick with them. Love them though.... it took me forever to get some and they are great birds.

They are gorgeous birds, been trying to get my hands on a couple but everyone keeps them!

So, it seems the Millie Fleur I got from Theron isn't doing so well. Not exactly sure why unless it was the heat yesterday. Everyone else is doing great so it's the only thing I can think of. She's on my lap right now cuddled in a towel but appearing to be getting weaker. I'm so sad because she was a good little girl. I also lost the Polish I got from chickenstock a while back too. All the babies I got from chickenstock have been in the same two brooding pens since.
