WOW! I just took me FOREVER to catch up on that last 2 days worth of posts. WOW. I have a head ache, BUT a good cup of coffee will take care of that... OR maybe its a fake headache and I just WANT coffee... LOL
Anyway, Glad your Geese got a good home Mom, hope you enjoy them York.
As for the deer... Pulling it WAY out back would be good. WAY WAY WAY out back. I hate to smell them. I deliver papers, and I am so glad they get cleaned up fast when they are in-town (burbs) Zeelend... When I used to deliver in Hamilton, Oh man was it aweful. They'd be fine, but you see them swelling up, and once they POP, you need to hold your breathe till you are past them. EEW.
Speaking of Zeeland, Has any one been downtown? I think I might have to drive home thru Zeeland downtown today and take some pictures. They have the most AWESOME scarecrow people displayed. SO cool. I would have never known except I went thru downtown yesterday just for the heck of it, to save some detour mileage.
I had a pretty stressful day Saturday. I thought that I had lost my faverolle hen Buffy. She disappeared for HOURS after rotten Ruby go out and Tiffany and Jace were chasing her around for 15 minutes. All my girls scattered. So, I get up from my nap, (i worked over night) and my mom tells me Rubys out and Jace was trying to get her. I opened the front door, and Yelled "RUBY!" and she comes. She's a good girl. BUT! Buffy is gone when I go out to give afternoon treats... I look and look, even look in the nestbox thinking maybe she'll have laid an egg (no eggs in a week) but nope, not in there either. SO, Now I am kinda bummed. Carl (neighbor) tells me I worry to much.... I am certain she's gone... Poor Mr. Fluffers...
About 7, I go out to give left over dinner to the cluckers, and WOW, there she is! I was so happy! Turns out, she got herself over into Bill's yard, two houses down, and was afraid to leave the yard because of the BIG dog in it. She doesn't know that Angel really is an angel and wouldn't hurt her. Angel is a lassie dog. AND the sweetest dog EVER. She let my son, when he was four, just walk right up to her and pet her. I almost pooped thinking she might bite him, but nope, she just lay her big fuzzy slef down and rolled on her back for belly rubs. ( I get to doggy sit her tonight and tomorrow). Now I am going to have to check Bills yard too when the girls go missing to see if they are over there hiding from the big fuzzy monster!
Just a random question... a weird thought... Do you think they (chickens) know and appreciate when we clean their coop? Or do you think they could care less as along as the night time meanies can't get them? I'd like to think my cluckers are happier with the daily top layer of poop taken off and then the pine shavings cleaned out every 2 weeks... shelves scraped every few days...
I put a window ledge in the coop... They won't use it... Guess maybe cuz as soon as they wake up, they want OUT no matter the temp...
