Hello To All, I have been gone for a little over a week deer hunting. I got back on Saturday but didn't have a chance to get on the computer until late last night. Well after about two hours and forty some pages, I think I'm caught up.

Welcome to all the new people. You will love it here, there are so many wonderful people on this thread that are are always willing to help, whether it be chicken related or life in general.

Welcome to Fuzzy and GM

Welcome Hobiedog- We are practically neighbors, I am in Cascade right by the dam on the Thornapple River. I travel to your fine city every couple of weeks to visit the TSC for chicken food.

Welcome Judysim1- Where abouts are you in the western UP? As I said earlier I just got back from hunting. My buddy and I have been friends since middle school and have been hunting just outside of Wakefield for the last 18-20 years. We love it up there even if we don"t get a lot of deer.

DaughterofEve- I am so very sorry to hear about your SIL and the fire. I am in the fire service and it is the least favorite part of my job to have to see people who have lost everything. It probably doesn't make it any easier but the most important part is that she got out safely. Houses, furniture, clothes and all other material items can be replaced. I know you can't replace all the memories and photos, but without her life she wouldn't even have the memories. She, you and the whole family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Fife- Congrats on the negative test results!!!!

Babigyrl- Congrats on your 1 year Anniversary!! I just celebrated my 5 year back in Sept.

Well I think that catches me up, at least that was all I had in my notes I took. I'm sure I have missed some new people or some of the highlights or lowlights that people have going on and for that I am sorry. It is good to be back, hope everybody has the chance to get out and enjoy this beautiful day.

Think you got it all covered, Andy.

Glad you made it back safe and sound. It's beautiful outside, but I'm in trying to get things done for Turkey Day. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm on the computer, but I need to break up all the cleaning, etc. Well, back to it......

There are a multitude of things that I should be doing right now, but here I am too. No reprimands coming from me.

No such luck, over the 18-20 years I have probably got 5 bucks up there. No doe permits in that area either, and if you have a combo license, the first one in the Up has to have 3 points on one side. I think we go for the experience more than anything, the deer are an added bonus.

I got to see my baby when I went deer hunting this weekend! He is doing so good. I miss him

This is Tempest. He is so good when I hold him too. Just lets me hug him...lol

Speaking of deer hunting, the guy who built my kitchen and chicken coop has been going deer hunting with one of his buddies for the last 30 years. In all that time he has never shot a deer! I asked his wife why and she said "well, probably because he doesn't own a gun!"

She said they go up for all the same reasons all deer hunters go, except neither one of them has any desire to shoot anything. They have been having the best time for the last 30 years and no deer were hurt in the making of these memories!

Beautiful boy Angela!!

I was shopping at the mall.

My bro-in-law is getting married in 3 weeks and we still had to get shoes, accessories, and a dress for my youngest. Chose the big mall in G.R., but they didn't have a great selection at all so had to go to the smaller mall. Came home with only half of what we needed.

I need to pick up my pace because I don't even have the gift yet and it's going to be here before we know it. I have to say this is getting very frustrating...

Did you try Nordstroms Rack? They have really nice kids shoes and for accessories, I would definately hit up Burlingtion Coat Factory, TJ Maxx and Target.

Burlington also carries those Disney Princess dresses that are SUPER cute. For a photoshoot for my niece, I found a dress (burlington), sweater (burlington, accessories (nordstroms), and shoes (nordstroms) for my niece for under 50 bucks. (the dress was only $20)

Good Luck!

Edit for Clarity: The dresses are called Cinderella dresses not Disney Princess and Khols carries the brand too.

No, we didn't try there, but we did find her a dress in the end. I got to the point where I grabbed every dress in the last store and said pick the best. Let's go. I got my outfit at Avenue (dress) & Burlington (shrug) and my other daughter got hers from Kohl's. All we need now are shoes for the youngest, accessories for me and a shrug for my oldest. But I'm sticking to finding the rest here in my city versus braving the craziness of GR shopping.

As for the high heels, I do not like wearing them, but thought my comfy shoes wouldn't quite cut it for this one.

My dad had a gun but he never shot anything. When I was a kid he came home with a doe, some guys had overshot their limit and gave it to him

.
The only time I saw him shoot it was at a rat eating out of the dawg bowl. Took dead aim and got the dawgs water bowl instead and put a bizillion holes in it lol. We never saw that rat again but figured it was dead somewhere of a heart attack. Favorite family story- The Day Dad Killed the Dawgs Water Bowl.
