RaZ, it seems like I remember you brought several "honey's" with you to chickenstock last year.

Is that the plan this year?

I'm not sure yet. I have to re-build my colonies this year, so I'm not sure what I'll have for early honey.

I might have to get some bees as well.

Quote: It's a great gathering of poultry people in a park having a picnic while putting faces to the names and avatars we see here on this thread everyday. There is a swap meet of sorts with folks buying, selling and trading birds. There is also a raffle with some really nice stuff.

Last year was my first time and I had no idea what to expect, but it was a great experience. You can talk chicken stuff all day long and not get those looks from anyone.
It's a huge costume party in a city park. You have to dress as your farourite chicken breed and act like a chicken all day long while people take pictures and post You Tube videos. I dressed as Foghorn Leghorn last year and had a blast.

:yuckyuck :lau We did not RaZ!
Yes,, of course there were no costumes and no You Tube videos. . What a silly idea!
Now, FarmerBoy, we know you might feel just a teeny bit self-conscious about having the newer people know this, but your emu costume last year was totally great and you should hold your head high and proud! Can't wait to see what you come up with this year! =D
Shush Yorkchick! I wanted everyone to forget that stupid costume, and not look for me on youtube!!! :barnie Especially the part that I tripped, and ripped my pants. So embarrassing. :hit  Might not go this year. All your fault. :tongue

It's official now. The theme for Michigan Chickenstock 2012 is based on "Glee".

Everyone who attends will be required to sing a show tune or if coming in a group must do a mash-up with full choreography.

Now, Daron, you know people LOVED you in that costume, And that leetle teensy rip in your pants? I'm sure nobody even noticed.

Don't even joke about not going this year. Not only would it be a lifelong sorrow to your many fans, but they would then take it out on MEEE.

Edited to remove a double post.
And to take this opportunity to ask: Where Have All The Smilies Gone? ((That's gonna be my Glee-style song, RaZ! Nobody else steal it!)
No, really, everyone else seems to be using smilies I no longer have access to. There's a few to the right of the box I'm typing in, but there used to be a "click for more smilies" which I don't have. Is it possibly because "the rich text editor is not compatible with your browser" as I keep getting reminded? I still see all the HTML source codes, and I can get the smile is by typing in the code (as I did above for the "hide under a chair') but they're not available just at a click.

I have recommended intense counseling for the rich text editor and my browser, but apparently due to the pre-nup that rich buster is just gonna walk....

Oh no...I've been gone too long off of here and everything has changed! AH! Have I mentioned I hate change...cause I do lol
Anyways, I need help...my silkies have all been doing good and lookin' nice. Well today I went outside to feed/water all the critters and one of the silkies was sitting in the corner between the feeder and the wall of the coop and I thought it was that darn naked neck hen trying to be broody outside of the nestbox and when I went to grab it up I realized it was one of my white bearded silkie roosters. :( He has some type of wry neck or something. I've never seen anything like this in chickens. His poor little head is twisted downward and around and close to his body. He was fine yesterday...or at least I didn't notice anyone acting weird yesterday but it was cold so I pretty much threw in some feed and water and ran back to the house....but I'm sure I would've noticed him in distress because I always do a head count. Any ideas? My husband wasn't home to put him down so he's in a cat carrier in the other coop so he's not in with the other birds.

Ah... Poor boy. I got a broody with wry neck sitting on eggs right now! I just started her on pro-vi-sol. Its a liquid baby vitamin. RaZ also found another treatment using vit e and selenium. Said he found it in another thread. Good luck with him if you decide to treat.
