Ugly chick update.
They stayed in the coop all day while the big girls did their thing outside. I checked every couple of hours to be certain. They have found a hidey-hole that they seem to like, it's under the steps up to the nest box.

I think they might be on the slow side, even though the waterer was right there on the first step, they wouldn't drink unless I held it right there for them. Maybe they are just lazy.

I checked on them around 8:00 and found one snoozing in the nest box and the other was on the window sill. It's only a single pane window so it had to be on the cold side but (s)he didn't seem to mind. I put her/him in the nest box with the other one anyway. I did notice that they had no real interest in hanging around the heat lamp. I don't think they need it at all.

I will check on them again before I go to bed.

Mom, sorry to hear about your little darling, she sure had a lot of love while she was here.

Opa, your roll out boxes are in the POW lineup, congratulations

Mom2- so sorry about Beeper

Nova- congrats on the little one. Such a cutie.

Welcome back, Sillychicken

Hello, Luke.

Olive- DH really liked your pic of the geese and alpacas together and I think the pic turned out nice. A pic on my phone would've been more grainy and hard to see.

I'm certain Opa's roll out boxes aren't in a Prisoner of War lineup, but I'm struggling with that acronym. What does it stand for?

Olive- I think it's Picture Of the Week.

Welcome Luke, great bunch of people on here.

I thought the same too... POW...

That's kinda like DHS. I was listening to an AM radio show Saturday nite and they kept talking about DHS, and I was so confused... What does department of human services have to do with this sh*% I kept thinking.... Then I got it... Department of HOMELAND SECURITY... Duh..-

So I have a bit of an oddball question.

If you have a bantam roo and it fertilizes a standard size hen egg will the offspring be bantam size, standard size or somewhere in between?

I'm asking because the coworker I gave my 2 bantam boys to has 2 chicks that have a ss wyandotte mama. We were just curious.
