Congrats Raz...that's a good sized egg!

Does anyone know if there is a easier/quicker way to access your Home Page other than going into your profile and scrolling through your recent activities. On the old form they had a Header for it which made it a breeze to get to.

Click the members name, then click profile. scroll down to recent activity. DEselect breeds, forums and profiles so the ONLY one that has a white background with green box is Arcitles. Your page will be right below. You can also put it in your profile. Look at mine see under my avatar where it says coop?

IF I HAVE THIS FIGURED OUT, ( RARELY HAPPENS ) THE ABOVE ( WHAT'S IT CALLED ) IS A LINK TO A LOT OF INFO ABOUT USING HENS TO INCUBATE EGGS AND RAISE THE CHICKS . IT'S FROM BACKYARD POULTRY MAGAZINE I FOUND THE ANSWERS TO MANY OF THE QUESTIONS I HAD, AND SOME I DIDN'T' THINK OF BUT SHOULD HAVE. TAKE A LOOK . CAN'T HURT ?

Gosh, I was sick for a few days and didn't really log on too much. I had to skim the hundreds of posts. You peeps are chatty! :) (I love it) Update: My little Marans didn't make it. I thought I had gotten her through the impatction but I was wrong. The squishiness in her crop was a huge lump of tangled grass and rocks. With all my efforts I couldn't get her enough nutrients to survive. She had lost too much weight and I wish I had tried more extreme measures to save her earlier but I know she isn't sufferning any longer.

I also still have my roo. The guy who was going to pick him up ran into a family emergency and backed out. Oh well.

Mom2 - It broke my heart to see that little Beeper passed away. I am so sorry.

Raz - Congrats on your chicks! I will pray that your meeting goes well and that you are able to graduate. I am sure you will do fine. :)

Opa - Should I be spraying my fruit trees right now with oil since it's nice and warm for a few days?

Grandma - How are classes going for ya?

Nova - Woot! Chickies! That is so awesome. Congrats! I just recived some replacement standard egg racks for my auto-turner (mine only came with one standarard and the rest quail). I can't wait to fire up my incubator again. I so need my hobby farm.... :: dreams ::

found it.... I liked it better the old way....

I TOTALLY agree!

Well, we had a skunk last night. Yuck....stunk outside this morning. I might clean out the coop today, get all the yucky straw out of there. The girls hate that, they want to come in and lay and I am in there. They don't use a nesting box. They build a nest in the corner that all of them use.

Also, we are getting our 1 day old chick in the 3rd week of February!

We are going to do a "Spring" picture with them and my one year old niece. My sister in law wants me to take it, since I LOVE taking pictures. This will be interesting. MY sister in law is making my niece a yellow tutu to wear. My niece LOVES LOVES LOVES my chickens. She will cry at the door..... "CHICKENS!" so someone will take her outside to see them.....lol She gets mad if you won't let her carry thier eggs. That is the life of a one year old....lol

I am getting some of my tattoos touched up today. :) Glad that will be done too.

Have a great day everyone!

HELP!

I went to take care of morning bird chores. Went to fill Leila little bowl, she is out with the babies, and the last egg is still in the nest box. It was chirpingnyesterday. It is cold. Think its dead? Should I try putting it under skeeter?

Well, I do believe it's that time of year again. Time for the Spring Countdown...

Only 60 Days until April 1st!

Ok... well I have put it in my bra right now to warm up. I knew the boob fairy hit me more than once for a reason. I am just wondering how to tell if its dead, I do not see any external pips, though I know it had pipped internally. I guess I just want it to NOT be dead since its Buffys... I guess Leila felt she sat long enough and they are on day 26... Dagnabit.

Honestly, a mama who has successfully hatched most of her clutch usually knows best. I'd toss the egg.
