Nova....I see the writing in the sky....Nova's Incubating Service.....You could make millions! lol The pics are just plain adorable...Congrats!

RBahmer.....so sorry for your loss. Fingers & Toes crossed for momma ewe....sounds like she is in good hands!

Opa & CR....Thanks for the advice. I won't be able to start this project til Sunday. My DH bought a Dremel Tool but I'm gonna go look at the ones they use on dogs like suggested (Pedi Paws). The one my DH bought is corded, he didn't think a cordless one would stay charged long enough to do 12 chickens. I told him if we decide on a cordless we might have to make it a 2 day event....1/2 one day & 1/2 the other. This is probably a somewhat simple chore but I must admit the thought of such a task makes me a little nervous.....just a teenie, weenie, little bit.

Congrats Nova on saving that last egg.

My trio of Tomaru Longcrowers were free ranging today.

The Tomaru's sanded pen- and you bet that I will be cleaning it out every day!

I bought one of those Pedi Paws for my dogs and it was a total waste of money. It might work for a chicken pedicure but I'm not sure.

Farmerboy.....your pens look nice....Good job!

Just gonna check them out. The one DH bought today is real nice & will definitely do the job. LOL.....He spent this morning on the computer comparing different brands, prices etc. Sheesh, the way he was browsing you think he was buying the darn thing for himself!!

Okey dokey... Picture time! OH, and the little chick that I bra-ed is a silkie faverolle... I think I said that..

The fuzzy black one on the bottom there, thats the silkie faverolle... ITS TINY!

Sorry Leila's head is a blur, she's shoving silkie butt back under her, they are all waiting in line for their turn to get under her.
The black one in back is the Skatter/Fluffers baby, the next one is the full faverolle, the yellow one up close is the Skeeter/Fluffers baby, and the little silkie is the Roger/Buffy baby.

I am thinking I should enter this one in the Pic Of the Week. This is the faverolle baby.

And I tried to get pics of the 4 week olds, but they would NOT stay till. BUT these two were curious enough to let me snap a quick pic.t
They are so darn cute. I just love them.

IF I HAVE THIS FIGURED OUT, ( RARELY HAPPENS ) THE ABOVE ( WHAT'S IT CALLED ) IS A LINK TO A LOT OF INFO ABOUT USING HENS TO INCUBATE EGGS AND RAISE THE CHICKS . IT'S FROM BACKYARD POULTRY MAGAZINE I FOUND THE ANSWERS TO MANY OF THE QUESTIONS I HAD, AND SOME I DIDN'T' THINK OF BUT SHOULD HAVE. TAKE A LOOK . CAN'T HURT ?

Good article Bobbry.......Thanks for sharing!!

Thought it might be smart to peek in before crashing for the night so that I won't have some many to read in the morning

You will find that the Dremel drum sander will work much easier the the Pedi-Paws. They won't take off the amount that you will need to remove. Rather than starting at the tip of the nail, with a little practice you can start much closer to you final length.
