Crude Protein. When you're buying commercial bagged feed it's really all you need to worry about, the company does the rest. If you decide to try to make your own or buy custom bulk there's much more to it, you need to balance the amino acids (which make up the protein) -- but I assume you're buying commercial, yes?

Thank you. I wasn't even close with my guesses. The bulk of my feed is commercial (Dumor) which I have supplemented with those organics I got last month. I have several feeders so they can pick and choose what they like. Plus they get treats like peas and mealworms and whatever they forage.

I noticed that the 11 week old Uggos are now sampling the adult feeders off and on.

Just came in from giving the chickens a treat a saw that I left my sled & water jugs out by the coop from this morning. Sled was there minus the 2 empty gallon milk jugs I use to refill. The wind is really whipping around and who knows where they are

Most likely in the next county by now!

I also hate waiting for stuff, especially when it is important.

I got my new laptop back from repair today so I can ditch this old POS. I just have to relearn how to type on the keyboard again because the layout is so different.

Last week I posted about the "found" rooster striking a just introduced Welsummer pullet. She was literally knocked out. I removed her a placed her back in her original cage. When I check later she was unable even sit upright. I started to cull her but then decided to wait. The next day she was upright but her legs were splayed out in front of her. She couldn't reach either food or water. When I held a cup of water close she immediately started drinking. So rather than cull a pullet that had just started to lay I thought I'd give her a few more days.

So each day I have held water for her to drink, food to eat, and watched for some sign of improvement. Finally today she was standing. Still appears wobbly, but she is able to move in her cage. Still uncertain as to what the final outcome with be but she might make it after all.

I always forget! Then I have to go fetch em, then I forget again! I need new milk jugs anyway. Lol

Feeling as poorly as I've been the task of dispatching and then processing a bird was more than I wanted to undertake. He is however, no longer with any other birds and next week he will be swimming with some dumplings. It really is a shame because he is a beautiful Salmon Favorolle.
