I had a goose egg for breakfast before, and that was all I could eat, for there was no room to eat anything else.

My Icelandic eggs are hatching! So far out of 25 eggs I have three yellow chicks and one dark one.One more dark one zipped and several more pipped.

This is how Amprolium is synthesized.
The drug is a thiamine analogue and blocks the thiamine transporter of Eimeria species. By blocking thiamine uptake it prevents carbohydrate synthesis.

About the colored eggs... People round here marvel that chickens even lay those colors! I miss my green Aster egg. I wonder where my green Skatter egg has gone. I think its the straw. I never had problems till I put straw in the coops and nest boxes. I put chips back in two of the boxes and the girls were happier. Leila chose the chip box over the straw, and Fiametta chose the straw. Veena, vanna and Vonna like the chips. I am going back to chips. Like better...

I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone on this thread who makes it their mission to be the next Food, Inc. I hope you're putting your money where your mouth is. Farmers are running businesses. Don't like the way the business is run? Don't buy its products. Support the farmers who are doing it the way you'd like it done or they can't keep doing what they're doing.

Yes! I totally agree, except that I have no idea what Food, Inc. is. Tee hee? But we buy only organic with very few exceptions, even though this is sometimes hard on a budget, which we are most definitely on. We buy as much as we can when we can from our local organic farms, which we have also gone to visit and found quite lovely.

We also try to grow what we can ourselves, I spent the lovely weather yesterday on starting my new, larger, veggie bed, I am so excited about it!

Anyway, this exactly is the bulk of the reason we are vegan, (excepting our own eggs,) and the reason that I am okay with eating the eggs from our chickens. Because most of my issue is with the way it is done, whether it is the treatment of animals, the use of chemicals, or the sustainability of the practice. Unfortunately, there are so many loopholes, even in "organic" certification, that you really just can't know anything unless you've seen it for yourself. So frustrating!

Some of the stuff i learned while researching vaccines is pretty scary. I don't like them either, The problem is, that a lot of us are having problems with respiratory disease, even though we are practicing good management. They are getting it from their environment, possibly. It's not considered "curable" in the US, although we did find out the meds they are using in other countries to treat it, so crossing fingers So we are kinda caught in a danged if you do, danged if you don't situation. The specific main thing we are trying to kill off is "mycoplasma" which is tough to treat in humans too. So far the only natural thing i found to try is "fermented wheat germ". If you can find any new info, we would love to hear it! Sounds like you like to do your homework too.

Mom 2em All Mom, be careful and try not to disturb them. I have seen good people do horrible things when they were going through withdrawals from "hard drugs". Better to keep your family away and play it safe. Otherwise you will be seen as an obstruction to what they want, or even worse another source of stolen income. Believe me, in the throes of withdrawal people will turn on even loved ones.
