It's seems to be one of those days where I'm just going to do circles and get nothing done. This morning I was going to treat most of the birds with ivomectin and bathe the really bad ones before I treated them. It works best for me if I catch them in the morning before they leave the coop and actually put them outside after they have been treated. So out I go with the medicine and an eyedropper which I noticed was my last one. In the coop I see some blood drops. Put everything down on the nest boxes to investigate and come back to a pesty chicken who had knocked the eye dropper behind the nest boxes where I can't get it!

So no treating birds until my DH gets home with a new eye dropper. Then while checking nest boxes I dropped an egg and broke it. I also found a girl with a bad case of bumble foot which I have never treated with any bird so I have to research it so I can care for her. My to do list keeps growing instead of getting anything done. I hear people complain they have nothing to do or lots of time on their hands and have no sympathy. Off to run my son to music and deliver some eggs.

By the way...does DH mean "dear husband"? I keep seeing this all over and it was just a conclusion I came up with, wondered if I was right?

Another question: My peeps are about 10 days old now, do you think I could take them outside to play for a little bit this week since it's supposed to be warm out? I wasn't sure because they're still mostly fluff but if the sun is shining & it's like 75, I wondered if they'd be ok for an hour or so. I dont want to baby them too much but I also want to keep them healthy.

Unless he's in trouble, in which case the D means something else entirely.

I always take chicks out when it's nice outside. I wouldn't hesitate to do so. Just watch them and make sure they're acting fine. They'll tell you if they're not enjoying it.

I don't know about anybody else but if they were mine I wouldn't take them outside yet.

Welcome ladyfeather and sarah! Check out the link on my siggy for info on the upcoming chickenstock. It's a great way to meet some of the folks from here and we would love to have you there.

Wow! Over 200 posts since yesterday. Now that I have caught up I must go get some work done.

I'm going to tell you the same thing I told someone else who keeps insisting he has muscovy ducks for me: I'm out of state until late Thursday night, now is the time for a drive-by-ducking. Or, in your case, a drive-by-lambing.

Just don't let my DH (you decide what the D means this time, lol!) catch you.
