Will chickens eat little frogs? With all of the rain and wetlands we have around our house, plus the warm temps, we are having a frog orgy around here. Those little buggers are all over the place. It is so loud w/ their croaking and mating calling at night, that my inlaws asked if there were ducks in the trees!![]()
They don't seem to like several things, pumpkin, cabbage, and pellet food. There were a couple of other things that I can't remember right now. Spoiled birds.
I haven't seen it but I'm sure they would. I saw mine catch and kill a mouse. They fought over it until it was gone.
Maybe I should bring a few buckets and come to your place to catch some frogs.
Chickens may ignore a particular type or kind of food but I guarantee that they will eat it when they get hungry. I feed pelletized feed because they are not as prone to billing it out, so there is substantially less waste. Mine ignored it for two days but they made the transition. Chickens aren't finicky eaters. They only become so if we let them.

Yes, chickens eat frogs! First time I saw them tear apart a frog, just about lost my lunch! Poor lil frog!![]()
I read not to feed cabbage to rabbits, that it causes gas. But, then again, read not to feed it potatoe peels, and I remember as a kid, my mom always fed my rabbit the peels.![]()
CR, we're not seding you any nice weather. We are very selfish here in Mi about nice weather. When we have it, we try and keep it as long as possible. Heck, we're use to having lots of snow in March. You think we're gonna give this up?? Not on your life!![]()
So like the pellets more than the crumbles. Lots less waste. And if the chix have a field day making a mess, I just raise the feeder until they clean it up!
Another beautiful day!! Took the dogs for a walk and uncovered the roses and mums. Keeping the covers close just in case.....
