Awesome Chicken Tractor Juise!!

Taprock, your place looks so different without 30 or 40 chickens running around

Just think in a couple weeks you'll have almost triple what I have!! That's quite a list you have hatching.

We also accepted mites as a permanent part of living in the tropics and did not try to erradicate them totally. Just kept the birds comfortable.
That makes me feel a little better. The vet told me in small numbers the chickens don't even notice them. But I do and I hate them! I finally noticed a big drop in how many there are. Now that they are spending most of the day out of the coop it makes it easier to keep it under control. I had the Adam's brand recommended to me by some one else also, I'll have to try it.

Now I'll have to box up the chickens Thursday night and find a place to hide them

Can you sedate a chicken so they are calm or do they just fall off the roost?

Very stressful day so I took my camera and spent some time with the chickens. More pictures, sorry if I'm giving you too many.

I don't hesitate to give chicks greens once they have started to feather out. However, anytime you feed anything other than chick crumble you will need to provide chick grit to insure they are able to digest it properly. I have given 4 wk old chicks a head of cabbage and they soon became quite proficient at demolishing it. You don't need to mash up greens, peas, and the like. They are quite adept at pecking off pieces they can eat. A hen does nothing to a chick's food. They don't feed their chicks. They provide protection and warmth until the chicks have feathered out.

That is a nice looking little guy you have there Taprock. Love the coloring. And the chick in the 4th one down is such a cute little poser. Not to be outdone by the black feather legged one in the last with the look of 'oh no, little girl. THIS is how a pose is done.'

Great pics.

Oh, I fear you are right and hope you are wrong! I have no idea what I will do with it if it is a boy. It took me 6 months to find a good home for the last one, where they wanted too keep and not eat him.

Sorry, Juise. Kinda agree with Nova.

But then again, time will tell. He is very interesting looking, though.
Good job on your tractor. I'm trying to get DH to make me one.
