Is that a subtle hint that you want to work with M2m and live with me?
It wasn't, but OMG what a great idea!! lol

Heeheehee.
I had a childish moment.

Yes, so sad...
I had to explain to my kids who he is/was. American Bandstand, the ball dropping at Times Square..
unfortunately, my girls only recall watching the ball drop after his stroke.
He will be missed by many many...
For sure. He sure did have a life full of fun and excitement though!

I talked with my son Joe, who in turn talked with the vet in Missouri that has been treating Daisy for the last few years, and Joe is now sending medication by overnight mail that may help clear up the infection and buy her some additional time. In spite of the infection she seems to be doing okay and the moment she saw my truck keys she was at the door ready to go.

I also found out that the Veterans Administration may help with my hearing aids based upon my Army MOS. I was in demolition and the explosives couldn't have been very good for my hearing. After finding out that they have a $6000 price tag and help I can get will make it a little easier.
Good luck with the medication, hope that clears her up ok. And also cool about the hearing aids! Those buggers are so expensive.

Sam-
do you think she would do okay with anesthesia for a dental? Get that bad tooth out, eliminate the infection?
Poor old girl. I sure hope the antibiotics help her feel better.
That was exactly what I was thinking. The price quoted in a different post was really high for sure, but $68 is incredibly cheap!! Does that include anesthesia and everything, or just the procedure?

Duckweed (Lemna minor) is pretty nutritious. Many people are growing it for fodder for their animals.
Duckweed is also used in bio-remediation as it sequesters a lot of chemicals. Perhaps your chickens are getting dome micro-nutrients from the plants. I kind of doubt that they actually get many mosquito larvae as they drink.

FWIW my dogs like to drink from my pond even when fresh water is right there. I think they like the trace minerals and salt in the water.
Thanks, Raz. That was kind of what he was thinking, but just wasn't sure. He said animals have an innate ability to know when they are lacking in something and will get them from a source if they find one. It's interesting how you brought up that people are growing the duckweed for animal fodder because that is kind of what he is doing. He has been throwing it into pools for many years now and it grows so fast. Btw, what are dome micro-nutrients? He isn't familiar with that term.

Ah ok so if I can put a little gauze or something over it then maybe I can let her back in with her jerky friends. Right now she's in her own bin and not really liking it. Do I need to put anything like bactine or anything on it?
I'm not certain about using the guaze, but for an open wound I usually rub a bit of neosporin on it first and put the injured one in a small crate for a bit. After a few hours, I blu-cote the wound and have never had wound pecking issues after that.

"i see you at all the school events.." And I asked her why she has never come up to me and said hi. She said, "I was afraid to, because I am HUGE now"..

I said, "SO what I am old and wrinkly now- who cares? " She said because she knows people talk and say, "wow, she got big".
I think this is a basic fear for most ladies. I have 2 invites this summer for 2 class reunions and though I would like to go, I don't want anyone to see my pleasantly plump figure either. I'm not huge per se, but I could do with losing a pound or two. For anyone who has always been self-conscious, it isn't always easy to think others would look at you no different than before. It can also hinder any ideas on meeting anyone new which is why I tend to keep to myself or only to those I already know.

What a waste of time/money.

My hare will be in the air tomorrow morning! It's so cool to think that one of my rabbits is going to be living in Japan. They gave me a bag of some really cool goodies from Japan and we've been taste testing them tonight.
Sorry for the eggs not working out for you, but awesome for your hare. And it sounds like you got some yummy goodies, too!

OMG I just went to the kitchen to grab some pretzels and I hear a mousetrap go off under the dishwasher (not sure if any of you guys remember my mouse story a few hundred posts back...well the recurring cold weather keeps bringing them in). I was like oh, we caught one!! I can hear something moving so I think maybe it just tripped it....no, it actually didn't die. Ive never seen a mouse caught in one of the old fashioned traps survive! It was clamped across it's abdomen and still eating the peanut butter. It was crazy. BF had to go finish it off and wasn't happy about it, said he didn't feel like murdering anything tonight. I said he could just put the trap outside & something would eat it...he said he'd rather put it out of it's misery. I'm glad he thinks that way. And I dont want to know how he did it! Crazy mice....that's 5 in our house just this winter. Jerks.

I replaced the axle on the flatbed trailer in only 35 minutes. No skinned knuckles, no swear words uttered. Still need to unload the compost from the utility trailer but that can wait.

What? No blood or curses? I don't believe you, you must have done it wrong.

Juise, that helped a lot! I've often been puzzled, since i don't know anyone personally with that lifestyle, i could never get a "real" answer. :) I think, then, that i fall into some kind of "natural food" kind of category. We eat meat, eggs, and milk, but most of the meat is caught by my hubby, and i'm doing better each year getting more veggies on the table from the garden. (we eat a lot of them, so it's still a work in progress) :)

Glad I made sense, I should celebrate.

I don't plan on things ever not being a work in progress, to be honest, we're learning all the time.

*snicker* Good job being productive, I struggled today.

.....well crappy crappiness.

Sorry about your chicks. It's pretty neat about your bunny, though. Some of my favorite treats are Japanese.

Also much of my favourite food, hehe. Hmm I need to make sushi.

Mom - Apparently my quote for you didn't come through, but I am sorry about your chicken, and your husbands snarky - yet hilarious - response.

That's the fat finger translation for some. The cold was affecting my fingers this morning. Any temperature below 50 and they stop working properly.

Sarah, you can copy and paste any smiley you want.

Raz probably can't type because he was lying about not mutilating his hands.
