My Mother in Law swears by footie jammies with the feet cut off and the zipper part in the back. In the coming weather I'd get the light weight stuff and cut the sleeves/legs short.
Noooooo I haven't gotten our bat box done, or even the bird houses built that my poor 4 year old worked so hard on measuring and marking out what feels like forever ago.

YES!! I am totally trying that tomorrow, thank you! As almost sort of funny it is, it actually super sucks. She makes enough disasters without having to add bodily functions into the mess.
I love her so much, and my mum never hesitates to tell me I deserve every ounce of it from the both of them, but uuuggghhh. Some days. I have tried putting her diapers on backward, and that helped for like... a minute the first time I tried it, then she was on to me. We use cloth diapers, which are even easier to remove than sposies.
Anyway, I have million little lightweight organic zipper jammies with no feet that were handed down to us, and I can't wait to try this on her tomorrow. Bwahahahahaha!

That's exactly what we were discussing tonight, the pros and cons of even getting it tested. If the results of the test would change how we would approach the situation, etc. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll probably call the vet in the morning for curiosity's sake, but we basically came to the same conclusion you did the second time. I don't think knowing whether or not its cancerous would change the way we would proceed so it's probably not worthwhile to even put him through the test itself, regardless of cost.
It was just today and everything has turned out well. Thank you for your concern.
I can have bat boxes and bird houses for you at Chickenstock if it helps.
Thanks for the offer Raz, but I already have the wood for all of them, and the boards for the bird houses are already even measured and marked out, the only reason I haven't gotten them done is because I haven't gotten around to cutting the wood, and that's because... well... my husband unplugged my scroll saw and carried it away, he said I needed either to move my saw or the toaster, but he was sick of sawdusty toast.
I haven't figured out where to set it back up yet, I was pretty happy with it on the back porch, since I could use it while still being able to see my kids inside, without them being in danger from flying things, it's enclosed, and obviously it isn't something I can run while my littles are asleep, so I need to be able to keep an eye on them while working. Bah.
Anyway, my little lady worked very hard measuring and drawing, and is excited to build one or both of the bird houses herself, so it would break her heart if we just bought one. My Dad built them a lovely toolbench for Christmas, and she wants nothing more than any excuse to use it, hehe.
Also it's supposed to be part of our bird curriculum, and I have been postponing the entire subject because of this, so I better get it done soon.
Hey, I said I was feeling silly! Lol. I realized when I could see it that it wasn't anything threatening, but I wasn't sure what it was and I like to be able to identify things. So it is totally a mourning dove, teehee... Uh... I had never seen a brown one before, just grey.
muttsfan, this worked brilliantly! It was a trick to find a docile one or one that wouldn't peck at her in the separate container. After a few tries I think I actually ended up with a decidedly less docile one but one that didn't seem to care about Blu one way or the other. They hung out basically ignoring each other for a while and when I put them both back in with the rest, a few gave some sample pecks at Blu but the other one jumped on top of the feeder and started cheeping really loudly and everyone just crowded around it like it was giving them a speech or something.
Just looked over and they're all grouped up in 3s and 4s sleeping peacefully.
We had the same rule. Dad always said that Mom would not make anything that was bad for us. The trouble was brussel sprouts. Just the smell of them would make me puke. Dad made me eat them anyway. After the first one, I could not stop vomitting. We ended up making a trip to the ER in a snow storm. Guess I showed them!
Oooh, a Michigan thread! I'm from West Michigan. New to raising chickens. Just bought my dozen chicks from Townline in Zeeland. Three weeks along now and loving it!
LET ME TRY THAT AGAIN!
Daron, not Hankins... Those oinkers, not pullets... Are the hairiest, not naturist... I have ever seen. What does their hair feel like? Is it bristly, not briefly...
When I was reading that post I was like what the hell is she talking about, and who the hell is Hankins??
So YEA I was right, I was gone a couple hours and there was like 60 posts to catch up on!! But anyway. chickens have figured out the coop now so yay, they go in their on their own! I wondered how long it would take. For being stupid chickens they sure seem pretty smart sometimes. For once, I don't have much to say tonight!
