Almost 500 posts when I tuned in this morning. I tried, but I've given up. What we need is someone with too much time on his/her hands to write up a short synopsis at the end of each day so the rest of us can catch up.

Just back from my friend's memorial service. One heck of a turn out. It was gratifying to see so many of his friends, family and neighbors there. The church ladies and his sister put on one hell of a spread after the service. And the singing of the hymn, "The Old rugged Cross" was so downright off key, out of sync and awful that half of us couldn't help but break out in giggles. Uncle Butch would have loved it and have some wild comments about it. But I must say we did a much better and resounding version of Battle Hymn of the Republic.

So off to walk the pups and head over to his family's house for a few more reminisces.

The rainy day and cold have helped to keep me inside today. The new computer and its' new functioning have kept me workin at it and the workings of mail order prescriptions has confounded and irritated me far more than I should have allowed. I( can now rip through posts a speed many times faster than the old machine allowed. Still I'm hundreds of posts behind am so sure I'll never catch up that I'm giving up. Not that they are not valued, just don't have time. Maybe I will be able to keep current once the past is past. Love this forum.

Goodness gracious...how in the world did I get over 200 posts behind? I had to skim/skip through today. I posted my hubby's meat rabbits online. He was not as interested in having them once he had to take care of them. So off they go. I sold the older breeding pair today and now to find homes for the kids.

I am sooo happy! That leaves room for me to get another angora.

I put a reserve on a black french angora baby today! Yippie!!

I don't understand this? If they are meat rabbits, why aren't you eating them instead of selling them?

Here's a couple of my young meaties.

While I agree with your assessment of "if they're meat then eat them" I have to say that looking at the face of that grey one it just reinforces that, while I am a mammal eater, I'm not sure I could actually butcher one myself.

sorry I realized I should clarify. I've hunted and cleaned meat and worked several seasons as the meat wrapper for an outfitter, I just might have a hard time with that grey face that I rasied.

Are you going to breed the porcelain de'uccles? I love that she took those babies! I wonder if that's typical of the breed?

Well I don't plan to breed them but if one of these new babies ends up being a rooster then I may consider it, assuming people would want them. I can just see myself overrun with d'uccles. haha I could find very little info on them but what I did find says they are an extremely docile chicken, very broody and excellent mothers. I guess we can see that from our 4 week old!

well i don't know where your town is on the map, but i might be interested in those hypothetical chicks, i was only able to find one of this color. :( Especially if they come from that hen! That's an amazingly nice hen. I really believe that personality is inherited, to some extent.

course you will probably have a hard time getting eggs, if she's so broody, lol.
