Thank you.
The skunk is attractive too.

Haha...what did you think I was referring to??

So Mom2 What am I getting? Black and white fluffy and ?????

YES.

What should I bring to put them in?... I have a small rabbit cage. I guess that will work.
That'll work.
Mom2 I can steal some of this if you want it...
I just transplanted some myself... we will see if it holds up okay
It does not look so good after being walked on

Some daylilies

And you want ferns??? I can dig you up some of those too.
Are you sure you want milkweed in your garden?

Mine are taller than my 40in son!! I did not know they would get so tall!!!

The tall stuff is flax... just decided last year to throw flax seed in the garden for fun. I really like the little purplie/ blue flowers it gets!
No flax- the rest yes. If you have it. I will plant it.
I want to do the back of the yard with Milkweed. A Milkweed takeover- really, my backyard and flowers are all for the butterflies and hummingbirds- the rest is eye candy. OR homes for toads to hide under.
Milkweed, peppermint, dill..I want it all.

I am going to bed. My stomach was BURNING all day-- like heartburn, or an ulcer, or a heart attack..I made the mistake of eating soup..now I want to

...husband thought it was funny, until I got up from the table and went outside the restaurant- left him sitting there.

It was strickly mind over mouth that kept me from leaving my soup there, in the parking lot.

My advice- do not go out to eat, even if it is just soup, when your stomach feels like you drank gasoline.

I have hops, Juise.
I also have yeast. Three kinds that your DH and I can divide. California Ale, German Kolsch and Champagne. Plus I have honey from last year that is a bit cloudy from being cold over the winter. It is still good, both for eating and brewing. We (meaning your DH) can discuss the fine art of brewing if you come.

Maybe we should brew a batch...

*Ehem* I have done as much brewing and fermenting as he has.

Which isn't a ton, but something we would like to do more of. Most of what we did was with his brother, so we still have a lot to learn. I also did some brewing with my former boss, I helped him make his famous infamous Tuba Charlie's at the Traveler's Club, but it doesn't count for much since all of his beers and meads were so notoriously bad that regulars made sure to get a sample every time he had a new one, just to marvel over how incredibly terrible it was, you just couldn't resist. Sometimes people even bought a pint, which always floored me. I think he has MBC brew it for him now, though, instead of doing it on the restaurant patio, and I hear it is palatable now. He did make a lavender beer one time that was actually pretty good. Woah, I almost missed being a waitress for a second there. I sure had a lot of good beer on hand!

Oh yeah, and I am still convincing DH that bees are a terrific idea, so it would be neato for him to see yours.

TAPROCK-

I have two glp for you. You can raise em up, decide who stays, who goes..or if they both get to stay.
The other two were dead in shell. Sad, because they were HUGE, took up all the airspace, and I think they had their head positioned so there was no way to move around. I dunno what happened- but two fully formed dead chicks. sad.
One egg was a dud...dead about two weeks in.

Since you live so far away....I am trying to decide if I want to stick them under one of my broodies for three weeks then bring them to Chickenstock...or if I want to put them in a brooder with a lamp, etc. Broodies sure are much easier.

There is that. My bees are doing well and moving up in the supers. They are expanding comb, honey and brood. They are so busy doing bee business that they don't mind me peeking in the hive each week. (I don't even have to wear the bee suit)
Bring your DH and we can pull the top and freak out M2M in the process.

My first 10 or so brews came out wonderfully. Then I got a couple of skunk brews that had to be dumped. It happens.
I think of the process as a blend of cooking, baking, chemistry and alchemy. It is always an experiment.

Dominiques, Dark Cornish, Buckeyes and Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. Sometimes it's hard to believe those little fluff balls grow up to look like chickens!

Oh yeah, the other chick died, he didn't last long, couple hours after arrival at most.
I miss mine being tiny little fluffies! I'm assuming your cold one didn't make it? What kinds did you get?

Yes, well, for Mr. White it happened every batch for 20 some years.

A lot of it was that he treated brewing the same way he treated everything else, by doing disastrous things that made sense to him and to no one else in an effort to save time and / or money. So he would decide to do things like double the temperature and halve the time. All I have to say is, one time the man threw a milk crate at me.

The beers we have made so far were all pretty good, except for the dandelion, something went wrong with that.

Oh yeah and the Bloodbath Oatmeal Stout, of course, that was terrible, but to be fair it did sit on the stove for 40 hours or so on account of the ambulance ride and the overnight in the hospital. We drank it anyway. Our wines have been delicious, if I do say so myself, and I can't wait for berry season so we can make some more.

I see you are choosing to ignore my affrontedness, (it's a word now, didn't you hear?) we'll see how well you can ignore it in person.

Mom - Sorry you didn't end up with more. So sad when they don't hatch.

Took my young Orloffs out today. A couple chickens checked them out. They all scurried off except one. I think Igor is a rooster.

I can be embarrassed on occasion but I usually recover pretty quickly. And can dish it back just as fast.

Just something to think about in case you want to throw down.
