For sale is a very nice handmade chicken coop. It measures 6x6 . It has 8 built in laying boxes with doors on the sides to open and collect eggs or clean. It has a door in front to go in and clean and a back door for birds to go in and out of with a latch to lock them up at night. The roof is covered with metal to avoid collapse. You can even stand up in this one!

This is handmade and has never been used. As with any of our coops it's VERY heavy. You won't find anything this nice in any farm supply store because all of those are thin and flimsy. You have to see it to appreciate it!

Asking $450.

Call 517-663-8035 anytime and ask for Keyt (Kate)

I happen to have seen this one when he was building it. It IS a very nice coop and well worth what they are asking for it.

Hey guys!!!! If It seems like I have fallen off the face of the Earth, I haven't!

Boy, over 2000 post since I checked this thread last!!!!! I am not going to bother reading them all! Nova!!! Can you do a recap for me? Pretty please with cherry on top?

Loads of things have been happening here at my little Golden Willow Farm.

I have been picking strawberries at Krupp Farms for 3 weeks now. Its my 7th season to work at that farm, we will be picking the last strawberries on this weekend, then switch to Raspberries. The owner is a great boss to work with!

Been milking Bella, and making butter! The raw milk is very good! :drool

Bunch of other things too, but will post them tonight when I get back from work. I am dreading to go to work for its too hot. Hate the heat!

Catch you guys later!

Really fantastic, Silly. Really. :)

---------

A friend of mine is looking to add 4-6 hens to her flock, so I get to shop for her at Chickenstock since she can't make it. If anyone has non-babies let me know and I'll look for you at CS. :)

Also- Anyone have any good Kid-Friendly tent-camping site recommendations in Michigan?
we like camping at St, parks, although they are getting pricy. My older kids also like being on Lk Mi. so that is were we head..... Nordhouse dunes (not sure I spelled it right) is just down from Orchard beach St. park I think it is a nat. rec. area, considered rustic but has flush toilets in 2 or the rings. short walk to Lk.Mi. the grand kids love it. I think it is $16 a night could be wrong on that cause we get the Sr.s rate which is much less.

hey, farmerboy,,,glad to know you are OK, are you coming to chicken stock?

Keyt - I really hope there is more ventilation than I can see on Eric's coops. In weather like this the ventilation is so so important. Also in the Winter the ventilation will prevent respiratory problems by allowing moisture and ammonia to escape.
I assume there is ventilation under the eaves but the photos don't show that.

Okay everyone who is going to Chickenstock....I can't come but am donating 2 decorated pysanky eggs to the raffle just 'cuz y'all are such a nice bunch!

Some nice bright colors...if you saw Opa's eggs that I made for him and liked them, you'll like these too!

Mish will be bringing them for me, I dropped them off to her on Sunday.

Opa posted some pics recently of the eggs that I sent him back from his banty eggs he shared with me. If anyone else in interested in doing the same, I'll swap one finished pysanka from YOUR chick, duck, fowl whatever...for a minimum of two dozen eggs (the more eggs, the more detailed the pysanka!).

I am still looking for eggs for my artwork...so if anyone has any extra eggs, non-fertile, non-hatching ANYTHING, any KIND, any BREED, any COLOR and you want to get rid of them....Mish said she will bring them home for me.
Even OLDER EGGS that are past their prime (as long as they're not stinky, please

)

check out my etsy site if you don't know what pysanky are: www.etsy.com/shop/goldeneggpysanky

Thanks all! Wish I could meet y'all but I have a graduation that day I can't miss! HAVE FUN!

Technically it is still spring so why is it so cussed hot? 6:30pm and 90 degrees. I don't like it. The birds don't seem to be suffering from it although their laying is off.

Chickenstock will be here in just a two more days and the forecast is for a slight abatement of the heat. Let's hope they're right.

If anyone has any games that kids could play please bring them with you. Got to keep the little people happy.

If anyone has any chicken related items or crafts that they have made please consider donating them to our raffle table. Every member that signs in gets a ticket and we will hold the drawing immediately after lunch. Last year we had enough items on the table that I think everyone went home with something.
