Okay, I'm going to give you some points for going all the way back to May 3rd to find this. But that's just mean, If your not looking uggo, uggos weren't so cute I'd tell you to keep them!

Well, not only am I getting your THREE but Robin is bringing 5 Maran pullets(2 are for my mom) and a roo for me too! What the chicken math is going on?!

Actually, I was going to see if you wanted that white non-uggo that mom2 gave me (you originally asked for him if I didn't want him - but now that he's a he, he can't stay here. :( ) So... I'm guessing no? lol

Hmmm, don't think he'd care much for that, although with his bad back he usually prefers laying down to sitting.....

Had a rooster escape the pen, then after I got him back a hen. Had to get DH to help with that, she seemed much more deteremined than the roo to have her freedom.
We could always tie him to the roof...

you'll know me tomorrow by my rubber chicken purse... though this may be the first time I've ever gone anywhere that other people might possibly have the same one. *gasp*

I can not WAIT to see that!

Sadly...I should say no. I already have 2 EE roos, 2 D'uccle roos, one polish roo and I'm sure 2-3 of my 5 silkies are roos.

Olive does NOT want him in any way shape or form. Olive was just trying to be (what she thinks is generally referred to as) "nice" to Kim.

Olive prefers not to feed roosters unless she has plans for breeding them. You know, because they only lay the brown eggs.

Hey! I've got a dog house for sale if anyone is interested :) I'll bring it to Chickenstock if someone wants it. asking $20 for it...very very sturdy!

and since I was snapping pictures...I wanted to share one of our Splash rooster Boy-George and our extremely broody blue hen :)

Are you watching me ??? I LOVE that Roo.

What a day! And not as in a good day.

I always go out in the morning to check chickens before letting the dogs out. There was a big pile of duck feathers outside the run but no duck body. Missing one duck hen but all chickens accounted for. I'm thinking early morning hawk that toted her away.

An hour or so later, I hear a ruckus and go out to see what is up. I see chickens in the driveway and Maggie my golden spies a duck and chases her into the pond. Put Maggie back in the house and start rounding up strays. Called the driveway chickens back to the run and I hear a crow from the neighbor behind. There stands the SLW and 3 pullets trying to figure how to get back over the fence and home. Grab the fish/chicken net and walk around the block to fetch them home. A bit of chicken chasing and a few cuss words, I get them back where they are supposed to be.

By this time I have forgotten about the duck but as I get back to my yard I see her in the driveway. Her back is bald and half of her left wing is missing!

I opened the run gate and she rejoins the other ducks in the kiddie pool. Other than missing part of the wing she seemed fine. I had to leave for a few hours and fullly expected to find her dead when I returned but she is hanging with the other ducks and all seems fine. She is eating and drinking and swimming.

What kind of predator might have attacked her? I think it happened at day break but could have occurred over night. How do coons or 'possums attack? Cat maybe?

just posted some chicken pix on flickr.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/randomkarinny/sets/72157627350847032/

I have three I haven't ID'd yet, all hatchery birds.  anyone want to give me a hand?  they're the ones titled mystery :)

Glad she is still alive and returned home. A coon would have tore her up completely. A opposum , I'm not sure about. Whatever it was obviously pulled her off by her wing. I'm thinking dog or even a fox. She sure put up a hard fight though. Poor thing.
