Mid march hatch a long

Well, 7 eggs went into lockdown, 6 have hatched and one just pipped (he's late to the party). Cross your fingers! #5 actually needed some help, he pipped at the wrong end of the egg and made no progress for 24 hours. So I helped him out of the shell this morning. It was nerve-wracking, I was so terrified I'd hurt him. But he's out and looks healthy, just really tired. He didn't need much help, I just had to get the shell started for him around his pip and then he kicked his way free. Hopefully I did the right thing.

My turkey hens started to lay last week, our weather here has been pretty much like spring. Good old Oklahoma weather, you never know what it is going to do !

Where did you get the eggs this time? If my turkeys ever lay I will be trying them myself as well...

My eggs finished hatching at 4am this morning! I ended up with 17/19. Not bad for my first time! Aww.. my living-room has been overrun with fuzzy butts!!

My eggs aren't due to hatch until March 24th!! Is anyone else on this hatchalong with that date or should I join another group.

I SO wanted to see photos of baby chicks!! With all those hatches where are the pictures!!

awww..mine are supposed to hatch on thursday if I can get this dang humidity up..it's stuck on 50% now

I have some Barred Rock and Delawares due on the 28th.
