Middleboro, Ma Poultry Show Nov.22

Hey, you never know how they will do until you try. Sarah has taken birds that she would have never thought would do anything and they do great. Depends on how the bird shows and condition, the bird could be top quality but may not place well because it's nervous and hides in the corner, she may surprise you

Hope she does.....

We don't do complete baths this time of year. We spot wash, dirty feet and feathers, plus of course clip nails and beaks. The key we have found is to keep them as clean as possible before show time. We also shine/clean combs, legs and beaks, with VetRx or Sweet oil the morning of the Judging and spray them with Luster's Pink Hair Spray to give them a little extra shine to their feathers. Once she is clean just keep her in a pen with plenty of clean dry shavings and she should be fine, and just do spot checks on show day

Thanks! Ill do that...How do i clean just her feet...Soak them?

Yep, if they are really dirty, just soak them for a bit and we use a little shampoo, soap them up real good and rinse.

There are usually lots of very nice people willing to talk bird. That's why I love going to the shows people are great about answering questions and giving advice. We have met some great people at the swaps too

You know more than me! I've never even given a chicken a bath. I've also never had any other birds besides chickens (well we have canaries but they don't count as poultry).

What and no video....

Wow, Sarah's just kinda sit there. She holds them, I soap and than we rinse. Sometimes we use the tub sprayer and sometimes the rubbermaid containers, depends how many and dirty they are. She holds them to towel dry while they are wrapped in the towel we do beaks and nails and with the Silkie they get blow dried the others towel dry really well and keep them in a warm draft free area, with lots of clean shavings. The birds we have done have been way better than most of our dogs we have one that screams when she sees the tub.

Does anyone have a street number for the Armory. The closest I can find is Elm street, I'm sure that would get us there, but the girls like to watch the car on my phones GPS
