how can I tell when they first hatch? I can get both out of the eggs I hatched out and didn't think about it lol.

You have to wait for the Royal Palms to start developing their black. The only way to know at hatch is to keep the adults separated so that you can tell which eggs came from which hens. Mark the eggs and keep them separated at hatch time.
