Mifi/downloading question for techie type people

I am dinking around with my new laptop tonight and hubby gave me a Verizon mifi hotspot to use. My question is - are these slow for downloading stuff? I am trying to download a game from Bigfishgames and it is taking FOREVER. Might have to go hunt down an internet cable and hook this to our DSL. Web pages come up at an OK rate - it's just the game download that is taking longer than I am used to.

It can be. Depends on the strength of Verizon in your area.

We get good signal strength from verizon - I live in a city and it shows 4 bars out of 5...

It is a 4Glte if that makes a difference.
