I don't know if I should give both of the parakeets to Bogi's past owner or keep them, I love them but they don't do anything.

Yeah...well if thye dont do anything then rather get rid of them!! But ifd i were you id really try the wing clipping!! Yeah its not natural and you dont like it but it works!! It might not be a real bond for 1-2 weeks but then after that it gets better and it becomes a bond!! But like its fine if ya dont want to! I respect that!

I just don't want to.:)

My grandparents had two yellow & green parakeets named Sharon and Doug. Then Sharon laid a egg, incubated it, and hatched it. I named the chick Heart. (I was about 6-7 at the time) Then about a year later Sharon laid another egg, incubated it, and hatched it. My sister named the chick George. George sadly had a malformed beak, but he survived. We had to trim his beak every 4-6 weeks though.

Quote: I was just wondering, have you tried using treats to tame them? I realize my budgie is by himself and young, so he's easier to tame. But just using millet in the two weeks I've had him, he will now get onto my hand of his own free will. He, of course, expects his treat in return. And I really only spent a few minutes a few times per day using the millet.

Thinking about it from the birds' view, being wrapped in a towel against my will, unable to escape when/if desired would make me trust a person less. And, as you said, you're budgie is quite stressed afterwards.

Not trying to tell you how to tame your birds, or that using a towel is the wrong way to do it. Just putting my thoughts/ideas out there for you to try and help you. This guy is my first budgie, after all. The only other experience I've had was when I was little and my sister had one. So I don't know much about different taming methods.

I've tried that, too.

Okay, good luck!

I understand not wanting to clip their wings, too. I almost hit the guy upside the head when he asked me if I wanted him to clip my budgie's wings.

I don't think it's humane. All because we want them as pets we take away their flight.
